I'd change "every bad guy is a rapist" to "the only thing that makes you a bad guy is being a rapist"
in GoT and the memeplex surrounding it rape is the *only* straightforwardly evil thing you can do. you can be a mass murderer, torturer, killer of children and the story will still treat you as some kind of antihero worth admiring. when the writers want to signal 'this murderer is actually bad and you shouldn't like him' they have him do or attempt a sexual assault
a huge number of modern works have this pervasive 'rape is the only real crime' attitude, it's extremely morally confused in a way I find quite creepy and sinister. one of the many reasons I stopped watching tv and movies
hard dividing line between the time when game devs took a "player is always right" attitude towards letting you skip their intro/cutscenes and when they switched to "fuck you we spent time and money on this, you'll watch it"
same attitude change is reflected in the game design
thinking about how far future historians will mistakenly attribute our era's sexlessness/fertility crisis and hostile relations between men and women to the proliferation of AI
I don't think it will be clear to them that the phenomenon actually preceded AI by a few years

It is because we understand the proper unit of consciousness (from whence - from the vaar) that the notion of a dragon brought low by a swarm of malaria-riddled mosquitos fills one with regret and not thrill. They did not deserve to win; something has gone wrong.

Insisted on us picking an armful of wild flowers on the walk to my house, so that we could hide them around my yard and roleplay as her dolls going on a scavenger hunt to find them all
Can't stand the idea of her ever seeing the world

Come, Friend, you too must die. Why moan about it so? Even Patroclus died, a far, far better man than you.

I can understand why people think we got our technology from aliens. We don't know what to do with industrial civilization. Example: The whole UBI debate is a debate over filling time, over whether everybody should be forced to grind because it will give their lives 'meaning'.
