We are delighted to announce our new President, Allan Wilkinson, Head of Agrifoods @HSBC_UK. Allan is a dairy farmer's son, and this, along with his banking experience, makes him an excellent fit for our organisation. Thanks must go to our outgoing President, Lord Ewen Cameron.

I've just started reading Divide by @Jonesthejourno and am enthralled. The Politics chapter resonates so deeply, way too deep for a Tweet, but do buy this brilliant book. Ideally from a local bookshop, like @BookaBookshop!

Finally. Having changed the grazing regime 2016 to allow some rough areas to develop, with @Ruralpay support, we have our first curlew nest in 25 years. Yes!!

Had to walk a long way to find standing water. Soil seems to be absorbing some of our rainfall, trying to keep hold of it as local farmer said could be another drought this year!!

TB from a farmer… I will no doubt get some hate for this but i’m past caring. We rear cattle to the best of our ability with health and welfare a paramount.Friday/Monday was our 6 month TB test. We are in a hotspot, it’s been found in the wildlife and it’s in cattle around us /1 – at Little Strickland, England
