Sprat. They are disappearing and we must take action now.
They are a critical part of our marine ecosystem, supporting seabirds, dolphins, salmon, cod, and even the fish we eat!
Pair trawling in our bays by larger boats is having an impact. The ban needs to be re-introduced.

Ireland has a lot to be grateful to Norway for. The latest gift they have given us is Emmy. The Irish people have taken her into our hearts. How amazing would it be if a Norwegian gave us the lead over the Swedes in overall Eurovision wins!
Thank you Oslo for the amazing welcome

Good news for Ireland’s Coastal Communities.
Since being appointed party spokesperson for coastal communities I have fought for 2 things in particular.
1. A dedicated Marine Minister and
2. A dedicated coastal infrastructure fund.
Both have made their way into the PFG

Simply magnificent Kellie Harrington, back-to-back Olympic champion!
That was a boxing masterclass against a formidable rival.
You filled Irish hearts with pride again this week. An inspiration.

Best of luck to the entire team at Atlantic Whale and Wildlife Tours as their new purpose built whale watching boat “The Lady Catherine” takes to the seas.
I’ve known the Gannons for a long time and I know their passion for the ocean.
Good luck Mark and Trish!

Sitting next to @SoundsIrish during the Leinster house screening of BIRDSONG was an experience I won’t ever forget. Sean, @KathleenCHarris and the entire team have created something beautiful and profoundly important. We should all take note. Our wild spaces are disappearing.

I am pushing for CPR training to be made mandatory in Irish secondary schools.
For every minute that someone's in cardiac arrest without receiving CPR their chance of survival decreases by 10%. So the more people we have trained in this key lifesaving skill the better.
