Aaron Garcia, the 137th overall ranked player in the Class of 2028, has announced his commitment to Vanderbilt.
Strong get for the #VandyBoys in Aaron Garcia ('28, CA). There's a lot of winning baseball traits here. Dynamic athlete with advanced instincts, quality defensive actions at C + INF and a top-of-the-order offensive skillset. Loose, twitchy hands with barrel accuracy and an innate ability to work inside the baseball where he gets to sneaky strength at contact. Slashed .379/.506/.672 with just 10% whiff at our stuff this year. Just consistently impressive looks.

We are champions, Wisconsin. You earned it.
You created the loudest home environment in baseball. You turned enemy territory into homefield advantage. You capped it off with the biggest party our state has ever seen.
We’re so grateful for your support. We love you. Thank you.

Another HUGE addition to the VandyBoys’ 2028 recruiting class!
LHP Ty Pohl out of Evansville North (IN) has committed to Vanderbilt!
The 6’3”, 195-pound southpaw is ranked by Prep Baseball as:
• No. 1 overall prospect in Indiana
• No. 59 nationally
• No. 5 LHP nationally
Pohl posted a 7-0 record, 0.50 ERA and 60 strikeouts across 42.1 innings in 2026, holding opponents to a .131 batting average.
He also tossed five scoreless innings with six strikeouts in a 2-0 victory over Center Grove in the Class 4A state tournament.
His four-pitch arsenal includes:
• Fastball: 88-91 mph
• Slider: 81-84 mph
• Changeup: 77-79 mph
• Curveball: 75-78 mph
Pohl participated in the 2026 Prep Baseball Future Games, Area Code Games and USA Baseball’s 16U/17U National Team Development Program.
Prep Baseball’s Shooter Hunt praised his command, pitchability and mound presence, projecting him as a potential future Friday-night starter.
With Pohl’s commitment, Tim Corbin and the VandyBoys have now landed THREE of Indiana’s top eight prospects in the 2028 class:
• No. 1 Ty Pohl (LHP)
• No. 2 Canyon Koonce (OF)
• No. 8 Kingston Galentine (SS)
The 2028 recruiting class just keeps getting stronger!

Packers safety Evan Williams said they have “punch balls” in the meeting room that players are supposed to hit to remind them about forcing turnovers.
Seems to be more effective than last year’s “turnover siren.”
Packers are second in the NFL with 15 takeaways — one more than all of last season.

We have nominated defensive lineman Lukas Van Ness as our 2026 Salute to Service Award nominee.
Growing up with several family members who served in the military, including his grandfather who earned the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army during his 27-year career, the importance of honoring and thanking service members was instilled in Van Ness at a young age.
