Working with @whop has been nothing short of excellence. I see firsthand how fast this team executes, and how deeply they care about their customers. Day in. Day out. We’re becoming a better platform at @raincards thanks to them. Massively deserved, congrats 🍾
Whop has raised $200M in Series D funding at a $5.1B valuation, backed by @sequoia and @shopify. It really feels like we are barely touching the tip of the iceberg in a market larger than anyone can imagine. We first launched Whop as a better way for us to sell sneaker bots, one of the most niche types of desktop software out there. Total TAM? Probably $20,000 per day. Who cares, tiny market. But, what people discounted is the idea that there were actually 70,000 other markets exactly like that one. Beyond the investment itself, I am especially excited to welcome legendary silicon valley investor @dougleone to our board of directors. Doug and the sequoia team are nothing but a brilliant, resourceful, and principled group of people. My co-founder Cameron and I started building on Shopify when we were 13 years old. Shopify is one of the most impactful all-in-one cloud ecosystems ever created; @tobi has pioneered modern entrepreneurship the way we know it and we are thrilled to have him in our corner. We have a tenet at Whop to be the dumbest in the room and I am very grateful that this has recently become a lot easier. We are focused on markets, scale economies, and progressive media. If that is up your alley, please message me directly. The $200M raised will support our expansion as we build economic infrastructure for the next century, continuing on our mission of delivering everyone an income.

Rain is powering one of the first projects out of BitGo Labs. @gokubupay pairs a stablecoin-backed card with an AI assistant that analyzes spending, surfaces insights, and helps users make better financial decisions.
Today, BitGo launched BitGo Labs, a research and innovation unit to explore and build the next breakout application for digital assets. If BitGo is the operating system crypto runs on, Labs is where we build the apps. We’re focused on use cases that only crypto can deliver, and we’re using AI and BitGo APIs to build them in months, not years. Among BitGo Labs’ first projects is @gokubupay, a consumer application that uses an AI-powered card designed to optimize your spending, accepted wherever Visa is accepted. Gokubu is already live and users can sign up today at gokubu.com. Learn how you can launch and scale quickly through BitGo Labs: businesswire.com/news/home/2…

How Rain is thinking about agentic commerce. There's a lot that needs to be sorted out around consumer-directed agentic behavior. For example, what happens when you ask an agent to book a nonrefundable dinner reservation and it books ten? In traditional consumer payments, there are well-defined rules around refunds, merchant disputes, and chargebacks. We haven't yet established equivalent standards for agentic payments. Can we take lessons from existing consumer protections to design systems that protect people when agents transact on their behalf? Yes. And the need is immediate. Teams are already going live with agentic solutions on Rain, with more launching every month. We can't wait for regulators to create these protections. The industry needs to come together to establish standards that regulators can then codify. That's why we convened the Agentic Payments Alliance, working with Visa, Mastercard, and others to help define the rules of the road. Whether you're looking to build or help shape industry standards, reach out. We'd love to work with you. Clip from my panel at the @philadelphiafed.

Entire financial apps can now be built around a single stablecoin balance. Wallets have mostly just been a place to hold stablecoins. Using that money often meant moving it somewhere else first. Now with one wallet, you can onramp funds or receive bank transfers that land as stablecoins. You can earn rewards, spend via card, and send money to bank accounts in 50+ currencies. Rain partners can embed all of these capabilities with a single integration. Excited to get Rain wallets out into the wild.
Introducing Rain wallets. One stablecoin balance now works across the financial system. One wallet to get paid, earn rewards, spend at 175M merchants, and send money in 50+ currencies. The new primary account.

Muse, Grok, Dots, and Instinct agents can now use stablecoin cards. Rain's scoped cards on @oobit give agents a single-use card for each approved purchase, with spending limits and optional merchant restrictions. Agentic commerce runs on Rain.
🎉 THIS IS HUGE: Muse, Grok, Dots and Instinct can now spend stablecoins. AI is moving from answering questions to doing things for us. To do that, it needs a way to pay. But giving an AI your card or access to your money is probably the wrong model. So we built something different. You approve every payment. @oobit creates a new one-time card for each transaction. The AI gets what it needs to complete the purchase, and nothing more. And this shouldn’t only work for people with the right bank card in the right country. Each card can be funded with stablecoins, crypto or local money, across 75+ countries. We think AI will become a meaningful participant in the global economy. Today, in partnership with @raincards we’re giving it a way to pay. 🔗 Learn more oobit.com/ai-payments

The financial system does all kinds of gymnastics to get back to the simplicity we once had with cash. When I hand you $100, you have it, and I no longer do. The transaction settles instantly and there's nothing to reconcile. Adding electronic rails gave money global reach. But making cross-border payments feel instant requires trillions in pre-positioned capital sitting idle in bank accounts around the world. And armies of people to track and reconcile it all. Those costs fall hardest on emerging markets, where cross-border payments become more expensive or uneconomic to offer at all. Tokenized money offers a way to restore the simplicity of cash, but at a global scale. Payment and settlement can happen at the same time, without the gymnastics required to create the illusion of cash. It can free up enormous amounts of capital, automate reconciliation, and make more markets economically viable to serve. I wrote about how stablecoins restore the best properties of cash for the @wef. Full article below.

How AI and Stablecoins Are Transforming Risk Management. With Kevin Carr, Chief Risk and Compliance Officer at @raincards, explains where card networks like Visa and Mastercard meet stablecoin settlement, how Rain manages risk on-chain, and how it handles diverging global regulations and AI in compliance without losing human oversight. In this episode, we discuss: - How does Rain connect card networks like Visa and Mastercard with stablecoin settlement, and what does that give cardholders? - What can you see in a customer's on-chain data that you can't in traditional fiat, and where does that get harder to analyze? - How does Rain keep one global compliance standard while adapting to different rules in each country? - How is the compliance job changing as it starts to demand crypto data skills? - Where does AI help most in investigations, and why do you still need a human in the loop? 60% of global stablecoin payment volume is sent from Asia. That’s surprising given APAC has some of the most advanced domestic payment infrastructure in the world. The problem starts at the border.

Quick story on how @Plasma One literally saved me from sleeping under a bridge at @token2049: When I checked into my hotel in Singapore I had the nice surprise of finding out that: 1) My company card had less than 1k USD balance (dev team going hard on AI credits, couldn't be angry with them), and it was Saturday, so no easy way to reload the account until monday. 2) My Amex had a 5k limit because I am a new user. 3) My UBS debit got conveniently denied and frozen because for some weird reason they thought the expenditure was "abnormal", and ofc nobody was replying to the swiss hotline in SGT time. Luckily my Plasma One Platinum has no limits, I topped it up from my @binance account with USDT0 in around 24 seconds and checked into my room, avoiding a night under a bridge in the lovely 70% humidity weather of Singapore. And it got me a fuckload of XPL cashback. Truly the easiest to use consumer product that we serve. Truly the future of finance. Truly the bridge between onchain USDT that never sleeps and real world spending. Gg @pauliepunt, @zaheerebtikar and rest of the team. Higher.
