And now, the rest of the story….
This happened in Oregon — a state that already has some of the stricter gun laws in the country (background checks, magazine limits, permitting requirements, etc.). A 16-year-old still got a long gun, forced his way into Silver Rail Elementary in Bend by shooting the locked doors, and killed three children (ages 5, 8, and 11) plus a teacher.
What stopped him before police arrived? An armed community member (reportedly a legal concealed-carry holder) who saw him enter, followed him in, and engaged him, neutralizing the shooter. Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek called that person heroic for stopping further loss of life.
More laws didn’t prevent the attack. An armed good guy did.
Im not even capable of words... for describing level of stupidity, ignorance and dumbness your nation presents...
Keeping "your guns" on the street is the craziest idea ever, not common in civilised world.
And young kids dies - the product of "USA" social experiment.
I hope it dies sooner then later.
These shootings have become so normalized! These mass shootings are a part of our society fabric. Sandy Hook should have been the boundary, our government should have set regulations, serious background checks, outlawing automatic weapons that were invented for war, combat not so someone could enter a school & kill as many kids as possible! I still can’t find a reason (other than a collector) that a person would buy an automatic weapon! Can’t use them legally anywhere!
Hey @cnnbrk how was that individual stopped? Today was another day that not a single one of my guns killed anyone!
