One thing people don’t seem to understand is that if you fail to document and preserve your own history, someone else may eventually write it for you. And their interpretation could become what future generations accept as fact. A claim is published today, quoted by another writer tomorrow, repeated in documentaries and academic publications years later, and before you know it, people are treating it as established history. That’s how easily historical evidence, historical interpretation and historical certainty become confused. I’m beginning to understand why some people invest so heavily in shaping media narratives. They understand that what is recorded, preserved and repeatedly circulated today can influence how history is told tomorrow. This is why documenting our history matters. Preserving oral accounts, recording testimonies, keeping archives and backing historical claims with evidence that future generations can independently examine. An old publication isn’t automatically the truth, just as an undocumented history isn’t automatically false. The danger isn’t simply that someone else might tell your story. It’s that their version may become the only surviving account, leaving future generations with little evidence to challenge it. Sometimes, whoever controls the records controls how the past is remembered.
Alhaji Bashir, leave Grok alone, let me give you the real gist of what went down on this thread from start to finish. It all started when one of our eminent scholars in Yorubaland, Dr. Shaykh Imran Eleha, stated firmly that the Yoruba people do not originally own the Ifa divination system. Instead of countering him with history, people started crashing out and getting emotional.  That was when I stepped into the ring. You know A.Y.O is always for the truth, no matter how unpopular it is. I told them to stop the noise and bring pure historical facts.  Right away, the usual suspects who have zero intellectual capacity started cursing the hell out of me. They turned the replies into a market square of insults because the truth touched their nerves. In fact, there is one of them called Femi, a guy already known on this app for spewing cheap propaganda. For someone who claims to defend and worship Ifa, Femi could not even write five lines of coherent analysis on the history or math of the very thing he worships! It showed everyone watching that the guy is a proper blockhead with an empty tank. I had to tell Femi and his gang of abusers that this is an intellectual table, and when it is time for an abuse contest, we will inform them. For those who tried to argue, I laid out the real history and separated the mathematical hardware from the cultural software: 1) Nobody said Arabs wrote Yoruba proverbs, poems, or local folklore (Ese Ifa). That software belongs to Yorubaland.  2) What was imported is the 16-figure binary grid (the 4-line Odu matrix paired into 256 combinations and marked in powder on a board). That mathematical container came from North African and Middle Eastern sand geomancy (ʿIlm al-Raml) down through the Nupe trade corridor. I dropped Reverend Samuel Johnson’s The History of the Yorubas (pages 32 to 33), where Oyo's own royal historians recorded that Setilu, a blind Nupe man who initially practiced divination with Muslims, brought the system down into Yorubaland and settled in Ile-Ife long before it ever entered the Oyo palace. Not only that, I backed it up with Al-Shawahid (corroborating witnesses): Sheikh Adam Abdullah Al-Ilori, Bernard Maupoil (1943), Prof. Louis Brenner, Prof. Wim van Binsbergen, and dated 12th-century Arabic manuscripts such as Al-Zanati and Ibn Mahfuf. Then the comedy started from the few who tried to sound smart: 1) The Oyo vs. Ota confusion: One guy ran to page 158 of Samuel Johnson to shout that Alaafin Onigbogi’s mother brought Ifa from Ota around 1500 CE, while hiding pages 32 and 33 of the same book where Johnson already explained how Setilu the Nupe man brought it to Ile-Ife in the first place! 2) Babatee and the University of Chicago own-goal: I have to give kudos to Babatee. Unlike Femi who only knows how to bark and curse, Babatee at least tried to go and look for academic research, even though he missed badly and could not comprehend what he pasted. He came chest-beating with a link to a 2024 University of Chicago Press paper, claiming "the world's top scholars" carbon-dated Odu Ifa to 500 CE. I opened his link and dropped a screenshot of page 249 on his head. It turned out to be a short essay by one lecturer from NOUN (Emmanuel Ofuasia) who explicitly wrote that Sophie Oluwole's 500 BCE date (Babatee did not even know the difference between BCE and CE!) is unscientific speculation, and admitted his own 1100 CE date is just an approximation based on general town walls in Ile-Ife! Worse still, Babatee quoted a verse saying "Our Ifa became Muslim", not realizing it comes from Odù Òtúrà Méjì, the Odu of the Muslims that records how the Babalawo copied the turban and ways of the Muslim clerics (Alufaa)! Once I posted that screenshot, he tried to play another Maradona style like their forefathers do, twisting my screenshot to claim the first paragraph proved him right.

This is just an assumption, and I don’t agree with it. Davido has publicly suspended Israel before, yet Israel didn’t turn against him. Even if Israel eventually betrays him, I wouldn’t be shocked. Betrayal is part of life.
If David sacks Israel today, Isreal will drag him on social media with his most innermost secrets. He will even drag his wife. David doesn't have much friends or loyalists. He is mostly surrounded by users. Once he decides to change it for them, he'll be exposed. End.

And when it bothers people, that’s when they start making assumptions about you and eventually dislike the version of you they’ve created in their own minds.
Fun facts; Apparently, If you keep to yourself and don’t bother people, it bothers people.

Hi @MentallyAwareNg, please, this person has openly expressed suicidal thoughts, and I’m concerned about his safety. Could your team urgently reach out to him and help him access the appropriate mental health support?
Something is telling me I will die soon. I’ve been feeling this way since yesterday. Sometimes, I also feel suicidal. Is this even normal? Or there something I need to do?

To be honest, I find all the concerns you raised logically weak and unconvincing.
Do not Undermine Democracy I have received with shock the news of an order by the Federal High Court in Abuja nullifying the emergence of the Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and all the actions he has taken. This is unsettling and surprising. I do not challenge the ruling of the court. The court of law is constituted to determine disputes according to the law. My concern is that three months before a general election, it is in the public interest to have certainty. It is not good to have too many uncertainties about candidates and parties a few weeks before a presidential election. This instability is obviously engineered by the ruling party, just as they have done against me in the Labour Party and continue to do so to close down civic space for a robust campaign. It is also from the same rulebook that manufactures violence against us in our campaigns. One mark of democracy is that at all times, it is voters and not courts that choose leaders. I trust in the judiciary. As a public officer, I have shown deep respect for the judiciary. I appeal that we protect the integrity of democracy by not undermining the free and fair choice of candidates. The sustenance of democracy in Nigeria, in the midst of encroaching military rule in West Africa, should strengthen our resolve to protect opposition politics and not stamp out opposition parties. It is because of the importance of opposition to the sustenance of democracy that I have always promised that, as President, I will take a special interest in ensuring opposition parties are stable and thriving, and that opposition candidates are not persecuted out of electoral contests. This is a time to strengthen our democracy by allowing the opposition to thrive. A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

Your assumption that Atiku’s absence could benefit Obi is interesting, and I can see why you think so, considering Atiku’s political influence in the North. But I think you’re overlooking two possibilities. First, Tinubu’s ability to negotiate. If Atiku eventually finds himself off the ballot, what’s stopping Tinubu from reaching an agreement with him? Second, the NE. I wouldn’t assume that voters who supported Atiku would automatically move to Obi. Tinubu won Borno and came second in four other NE states in 2023. Some of those voters might prefer Tinubu to Obi. So I don’t think Atiku’s absence would automatically favour Obi. His political influence could become valuable to either side, depending on who he decides to work with.
ADC's judgement is not a good news for PBAT. Hear me out! The 2027 Presidential Election is supposed to be a 3 horse race- PBAT, Atiku and Obi. An election that has the 3 of them contesting for the same position will always favour PBAT, even if conducted a million times. With the recent judgement of the Federal High Court voiding Atiku's candidacy, it will now become a contest between PBAT and Obi. If it eventually becomes a 2horse race, then the possibility of PBAT winning is slim; because if Atiku is not on the ballot, his camp can easily work and campaign for Obi, but on terms that I am not sure Obi's camp will accept. Anything just to get PBAT out of office. So the best thing out there is to either have the 3 of them on the ballot, with Atiku's team accelerating the hearing of the appeal before the election, which I strongly doubt is possible, but looking at the sensitivity of the matter, it might not be impossible. Dont go yet, 2027 just becomes more interesting.

Overfamiliarity breeds disrespect. When people become too comfortable around you, they can start mistaking your kindness for something they’re entitled to. You don’t have to become inaccessible. You just need to know when to withdraw access.

There’s an interesting gap in your psychological interpretation. VDM didn’t need Davido’s friendship to criticise him. A man whose public identity thrives on confrontation can throw stones from outside the gate just as easily as from inside the compound. Davido’s accommodating personality predates VDM. Perhaps he enjoys validation, perhaps his generosity feeds his ego, or perhaps he genuinely enjoys connecting with people. Why must his openness be interpreted as an inability to tolerate rejection? And there’s something revealing about analysing someone’s insecurity only to conclude that he deserves humiliation. Sometimes our existing perception of someone influences the psychology we attribute to them. An open door may bring trouble closer, but a closed door doesn’t guarantee peace.
On Davido & VDM. I have my thoughts together now. It's no longer news that Davido, despite being one of the biggest superstars out of Africa somehow knows how to bring ant-infested rotting wood into his house. A lot of you attribute it to "humility" but it really isn't - it is a psychological pattern I'll call maladaptive approval seeking disorder. It is the kleptomaniac version of validation hunting. You know how kleptomaniacs are wired - it doesn't matter how much they are fed, how much wealth they're born into, how much of money they have access to - they NEED to steal to satisfy an urge. That's how people with maladaptive approval seeking disorders behave. It doesn't matter how many people cheer them up, the strength of their fanbase, how much love they get - they never seem to run out of the thirst for validation even if its from nonentities. Davido, as an embodiment of this disorder, cannot stomach the fact that there are people who don't like him or don't necessarily fuck with him - to him, how is that possible? This is why he wants to be the knight posturing as someone's savior publicly even though he intends to ghost them (Madrina), buys the loyalty of presumed internet popular nuisances just to feed that disorder - like a kleptomaniac would. It is a deep seated insecurity that predisposes him to eventual disrespect. In reality, he doesn't even rate himself. He doesn't enjoy who he is or what he has, unless he has to smash it in someone's face. The disrespect he's getting, he actually deserves - because the very reason he associated with those nuisances in the first place was to use them as internet weapons in his media fights. It is also poetically hilarious that my analogy for this tweet is the psychology of kleptomaniacs because he's also a thief, too. Long may the disrespect continue.

People should understand that Lagos’s biggest advantage isn’t its infrastructure. It’s the commercial ecosystem that generations have built around it. London remains the UK’s financial and commercial capital despite other cities having excellent infrastructure. The same applies to New York in the US. Lagos has a huge concentration of consumers, businesses, investors, skilled workers and established commercial networks. There’s also something people overlook: reputation and tradition. Generations of Nigerians have grown up seeing Lagos as the place to pursue business and economic opportunities. That belief attracts people, businesses and investment, which further strengthens its dominance. People go where the businesses are, and businesses go where the people are. You can build roads, airports and seaports elsewhere, but you cannot replicate decades of commercial relationships and economic concentration overnight.
How exactly has Lagos been favored above other regions by past governments?

What happens to the UK care sector when these migrants finally get ILR? More than half of them will leave care work once they secure ILR. Some will move into better paying jobs, while others may eventually return to their home countries after obtaining citizenship. Many are staying in care because their visas depend on it, not necessarily because they enjoy the job. In a few years, the UK could face another serious shortage of care workers and find itself needing to recruit migrants again to fill the same vacancies. But here’s the interesting part: what will the government use to convince new migrants to come and fill those jobs? A 15-year wait for ILR? 😂
🚨 SUMMARY: Shabana Mahmood's reforms to settlement in the UK for migrants - Social care migrants who arrived before May 2025, earn at least £25,000 and meet their visa conditions will keep the 5 year wait to settlement, a U-turn on the proposed 15 years after Labour backlash - Social care migrants who don't meet the above will be given a "second chance" and face a 10 year wait - In another U-turn, 136,000 dependants of the eligible care workers will face a 5 year wait alongside their partners rather than having to qualify independently - Migrants who didn't arrive by small boat will face a 10 year wait if they work or study, or 20 years if they don't. Small boat migrants will face a 20 year wait if they work or study, rising to 30 years if they don't - The highest earners (£125,141+) will face a 3 year wait - Doctors, nurses, teachers earning over £50,271 and refugees arriving through safe and legal routes will face a 5 year wait if they arrived before May 2025 - The standard wait for most other legal migrants will increase from 5 to 10 years, down from the proposed 15 years - Migrants who breach visa rules or claim certain benefits will face a 20 year wait - Migrants will also no longer be banned from claiming benefits after gaining settlement - Anyone applying for settlement will need a clean criminal record, higher English language proficiency, no outstanding debts to the taxpayer and a record of sustained National Insurance contributions

If prayers inside the Kaaba are so powerful, why doesn’t Saudi Arabia simply pray there for protection instead of investing billions in modern technology and weapons to secure its country? See how religion makes people think like zombies😂😂😂
Only a very few people in this world get to enter the Kaaba. In case you do not know how great this is for President Tinubu, let me enlighten you a bit. Entering the inner chambers of the Holy Kaaba is not a tourist activity you can buy with money or political influence. It is a rare, highly exclusive privilege granted only to select global leaders and top dignitaries. It is a great spiritual honor that millions of Muslims can only dream of in their lifetime. Spiritually, standing inside the Kaaba means you are at the very center of the Islamic world. While every Muslim on earth faces the Kaaba to pray, the person inside can pray facing any direction because they are inside the Qibla itself. It is a space of profound divine mercy. It is the same spot where Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) prayed upon the conquest of Makkah, making it a sacred ground where supplications are guaranteed for acceptance. So, if he says he has prayed for Nigeria in such sacred sanctuary, be joyous. That is one of the greatest places on earth for accepted prayers. However, Nigeria will surely get better with the sincerity of purpose to act on the prayers made. Prayers must be backed by sincere leadership and decisive action. Allah knows best.

Interestingly, I asked Grok and ChatGPT the same question, and they gave different answers. Grok chose D, while ChatGPT chose A. 😂 Both got it wrong. The correct answer is B -4819.

Bro, I support your position. Japa if you can. On the other hand, some people who japa are also returning home. I have an ex colleague who took annual leave last December, travelled to Nigeria and never returned to the UK. When I reached out to him, he told me he was tired of living in the UK. Interestingly, judging by his whatsapp updates, he seems to be doing quite well back in Nigeria. Japa is an opportunity, but living abroad isn’t for everyone.
JAPA IF YOU CAN!!!! As an international student working 20hrs per week here, let’s say I earn around €900 monthly (which is mostly even higher). If I have worked for at least one year, I become entitled to unemployment benefits of around €500 until I get another job. The government will even be the one sending me links for jobs while unemployed. Nur be life we dey live for Nigeria 🇳🇬.
