You don’t need to be a developer to start building with AI, and you don’t need to be an AI expert to use it to create presentations, manage your email inbox, organise your work, or turn an idea into something useful. That is the idea behind Codex: AI for Everyone! Workshop - Nairobi. On Thursday, 27 August 2026, we are honoured to host Emmanuel Lubanzadio, Africa Lead at @OpenAI, for a conversation about the current shift in AI and the opportunities it is creating for builders across Africa. Felix Jumason - @blackie_360 and I, OpenAI Codex Ambassadors in Kenya, will also host a practical, hands-on workshop for developers, founders, students, creators, marketers, operations professionals, and anyone curious about using AI in their everyday work. For the workshop, we will go beyond simply talking about what AI can do. We will explore how Codex can help you: 🔹 Turn rough ideas, notes, and information into polished presentations, documents, and reports. 🔹 Connect with tools such as Gmail and Outlook to retrieve messages, summarise long email threads, and draft thoughtful responses. 🔹 Use Google Calendar, Google Drive, Slack, and other plugins to find information, organise tasks, and bring context from different tools into one workflow. 🔹 Use voice with Codex to start tasks, ask for progress updates, interrupt, or redirect work naturally. 🔹 Build useful websites, internal tools, automations, and workflows, even without a traditional software-development background. 🔹 For developers, connect Codex with GitHub to understand codebases, build features, fix bugs, review pull requests, and move projects forward faster. This will not be another session where we only discuss what AI might do in the future. We will open the tools, explore real workflows, experiment with ideas, and build. 📍 ALX Tech Hub (Kenya) - Nation Centre, Nairobi 📅 Thursday, 27 August 2026 🕜 13:30 – 18:00 EAT Whether you write code every day or have never opened a terminal, this workshop is for you. Come with an idea, a task you want to simplify, or simply your curiosity. Come ready to learn, experiment, and build.
