Zack Baun is already comparing Tanner McKee to Tom Brady. And his first start this season is against Carolina. Man... I am BEGGING the Panthers not to become the first chapter of this story. 😂

Jalen Hurts is officially OUT Sunday against Carolina due to a blood clot. Really hope he's okay. 🙏 Tanner McKee is expected to start for Philly. Panthers coming off a bye against a backup QB... AND over 20 injuries for Eagles Carolina HAS to take care of business. No excuses.

Bryce Young said during MNF, dropped passes don't bother him. But receivers running the wrong routes because they're not locked in? THAT bothers him. I love that answer. There's a big difference between making a mistake and not doing your job.

8 correct NFL winners. Called before kickoff. 4 wrong. 1 tie. Everything stays up. Houston won. My “close game” prediction got wrecked. Next forecasts Saturday—with this week’s lessons. First, the receipts. The three games I highlighted: ★ HOUSTON Projected: win by 3.1. Actual: win by 23. Right winner. “Tennessee hangs around” aged horribly. ★ NEW ENGLAND Projected: win by 6.8. Actual: win by 28. Right winner. Underestimated the margin by 21.2 points. ★ CLEVELAND Projected: win by 0.85. Actual: lose by 5. Wrong call. It stays on the record. Two of three highlighted winners correct. Average margin error: 15.65 points. I said I was testing margins. I don’t get to change the assignment because the winner count looks better. Then I switched from Baltimore to Atlanta because Lamar was out. Baltimore won anyway. Apparently the spreadsheet needed less supervision. Now I’m investigating the biggest misses and testing possible adjustments against past games. Saturday, I’ll publish the next Sunday forecasts and show what earned its place after testing. Can the model get closer on margins? Can I stop making it worse with my own calls? Follow me to find out. Next forecasts Saturday. Full results Monday. The entire scorecard is below.
I used to work at Robinhood. Now I build NFL models for fun and test them in public. This week's most interesting number: Houston by 3.1. Most expect a comfortable Texans win. My model says Tennessee keeps it close. All 13 Sunday forecasts in the reply. Results Monday. Last week I said the model I've been working on was coming to life. I like football. I like data. Apparently watching the games wasn't enough, so I gave myself homework. Three games I'm watching: ★ TEXANS vs TITANS Projected margin: Houston by 3.1 I have Houston winning, but this one's a lot tighter than the narrative around it. Tennessee hangs around. ★ PATRIOTS vs RAIDERS Projected margin: New England by 6.8 The model likes the Patriots more than most. The depleted secondary is the biggest reason I'm cautious. ★ BROWNS vs JETS Projected margin: Cleveland by 0.85 Basically a coin flip that leans Cleveland. Interesting enough to track, not enough to pretend it's certain. These forecasts predate the latest injury updates. What I'm testing is how close the projected margins land. I'm not claiming the model is right. Monday, I'll show what held up, what missed, and what needs more work. Everything stays visible. Follow along for Sunday forecasts and Monday results.

Its almost like coachs may have something to do a players development and success...
DJ Wonnum has five sacks in five games for Detroit. In two seasons with the #Panthers (24 games), he had seven total sacks. Impressive run for the South Carolina alum.

Carolina traded Andy Dalton to Philly for a 7th-round pick. His entire Eagles career: 1 pass. 1 interception. Now released. And the Panthers play Philadelphia NEXT. 😂 Dan Morgan... I see you.

CeeDee Lamb had 9 yards. NINE. Dallas ran for 50. Bucky Irving ran for 165 by himself. The Cowboys lost at home to an 0-4 team starting an undrafted rookie QB. Biggest fraud in the NFL. Change my mind. 🧵

Remember when the Panthers were basically trying to protect Bryce Young from having to carry the offense? Now Carolina LEADS THE NFL in pass rate over expected. Bryce is throwing deeper. More explosives. Career-high play action rate. Dave Canales said here... YOU drive the car. And Bryce is delivering. 🔥 📊 @CBSSports
