I’m very quickly realizing that only “example” people have provided to me of Sam supposedly being written horribly as a character is him…having sympathy for the dead displaced teenager that was being denied resources by the government and turned to extremism in FATWS. That’s it.
At this point if you’re being manipulated by this, I’m just going to assume you’re either stupid or really really smart and bored.

The crazy thing about Wonder Man being cancelled is that it should’ve been a wake up call to the fanbase but because they refuse to take responsibility for anything, they just figured out a new way to absolve themselves.
Also not lost on me that she’s getting significantly more hate than she would if she were a 35-year old man that said this exact same shit while writing for a major publication.
I’m actually seeing people being honest about Wildwood and straight up going “I didn’t want to see it” holy shit. I can’t tell if this is progress or not.
Why are people acting like the show whose entire first episode was put on YouTube to try and bring in viewers and still managed to barely get watched while also costing $80M was cancelled because the lead was black?
I think Anthony Mackie being naturally funny has skewed people’s perception of Sam in the MCU.
Idk call me crazy but if people are so “starved” for original movies with artistry and craft, you probably wouldn’t have to beg them to watch one.
This is partially why the blaming him for Marvel “not being woke” seems stupid (examples of blatant colorism and ignorance aside). It’s a fundamental misunderstanding of what’s going on fueled by a desire for an easy and obvious target because the truth is more annoying.
Good point. Not a unique point tho.

“When I was 8-15” so 5 years ago? Post pandemic? Anyone else notice that the people that talk like this always happen to practically still be children.
The issue with Sam being Captain America in the MCU comes down to the most surface level politics which sucks because it eliminates the potential for anything remotely more challenging ever being explored with those films.
