.@talkSPORT understands Michael Carrick cleared the air with Bruno Fernandes, with the Captain expected to start at Chelsea. Talks took place between the manager and Fernandes before training today, after the Portuguese was left out at the weekend.

It is worth noting, Carrick is not “saving the job” or having a chance to “turn it around”
Michael Carrick is simply still in position until a successor is fully confirmed. He has been told he’s been sacked and the job is lost, however, they will not make the change until the new manager has been agreed.
It is a shocking way to operate and sad to see a club legend be used as a puppet, as it were, but that is where the club is at this moment in time.

He created a narrative that he supposed to be starting ahead of Bruno and Casemiro
He made it seem like he was good enough when he isn’t.
He doesn’t have pace, long balls apart from sideway passes and close ball control.
He fanned the flames that got Amorim sacked.
He created the mentality of entitlement at Carrington in the likes of JJ Gabriel cause he set the tone for the young ones.
After doing all these, he was never punished.
Him and Wilcox massively contributed in destroying United rebuild under Ruben Amorim.

Isn’t it funny. In January the majority of our fanbase said the problem at the club was the manager. His tactics, his formation, his selections. They CELEBRATED when he was sacked. We sat 5th at the time. Roll on 9 months we sit 16th, the kicker? NOTHING is the managers fault now
