Planning a Black Friday sale for your digital products?
Don't pick a discount just because competitors are offering one.
Easy Digital Downloads helps you sell and manage digital products with WordPress. Before launching your next promotion, use your previous sales data to understand how discounts affect order volume, average order value, and revenue.
More orders don't always mean more profit.
If you're running a digital products store, EDD is worth exploring.
Before you pick a Black Friday discount, check what last year's sale actually did. In this example store, orders nearly tripled, but the average order fell from about $33 to under $24. A 30% discount needs about 43% more orders just to match full-price earnings.
How Big Should Your Black Friday Discount Be?
Compare last year's Black Friday sale with a normal week before you set this year's discount. The full prep checklist, with AI prompts, is on the Easy Digital Downloads blog.

Big news!
@GetDrip and @Sleeknotecom just joined the WPBeginner family 😁
I have used Drip for our own email marketing for years. This one feels personal.

Excited to welcome Drip.com and Sleeknote to the WPBeginner family of brands ❤️
I’ve been a paying Drip (@getdrip) customer for years.
Today, I’m excited to share that we’ve acquired the company 😍
Drip.com is the email and SMS marketing platform that has powered @WPBeginner and our other brands for a long time.
We also acquired Sleeknote (@Sleeknotecom), the onsite conversion tool behind Drip’s popups, slide-ins, and forms, which comes free with every Drip plan. Both are joining the @AwesomeMotive family of brands.
Why Drip?
I don’t have a sophisticated acquisition strategy. We generally buy businesses that we already use to make us money. I’ve pulled up Drip’s revenue dashboard more times than I’d like to admit, so I know exactly what a good email and SMS setup brings in.
Some numbers, because who doesn't like numbers: over 6,000+ brands run on Drip, and they’ve earned over $1.5 billion in revenue from Drip emails. Not impressions, not engagement ... Real Dollars.
But here’s the real reason.
Advertising costs keep going up. Social traffic keeps going down. And AI is changing how people find and discover businesses.
Your email list and your SMS list are the only assets that nobody can take away from you. They’re not rented, they’re YOURS. And in the AI era, that matters more than it ever has.
Business owners who own their customer relationships are going to come out ahead. The ones building on rented land are going to pay the ultimate cost.
My goal is simple: make Drip the best email & SMS marketing platform for the AI era, and make marketing automation both EASY and affordable for every small business owner.
All Drip users already have access to a free MCP connector, so you can point ChatGPT, Claude or any of your favorite AI tools at your customer data, and just ask it questions. That’s where this is headed.
Mogens Møller and his team built a great product, and he’s staying on to run Drip as an independent brand, like all of our companies. Nothing changes for existing customers, except the team behind you just got bigger.
If you’re an existing Drip customer, eCommerce store owner, and / or a small business owner that has a wishlist or feature idea that you'd love to see from an AI-first email & SMS marketing platform, let me know in the comments below because I’m excited to be working with the team.

WPVibe has crossed 100,000 active installs on WordPress.org.
I've followed its growth from the earlier days, and this is a significant milestone.
WPVibe connects Claude, ChatGPT and other AI agents to WordPress, allowing you to manage and make changes to your website using natural language.
You can use it to:
Redesign your website without immediately changing the live site.
Edit pages in Elementor, Divi, Bricks and Beaver Builder.
Identify and fix SEO gaps.
Automate routine WordPress maintenance.
Work with plugins like WPForms, WPCode, All in One SEO, Duplicator and more.
The important part is that sensitive operations still require your approval.
AI agents are moving beyond generating content. They're becoming practical tools for getting actual work done inside WordPress.

Sales report, discount code, order lookup. Each one used to mean a login screen and three clicks minimum.
Easy Digital Downloads (@eddwp) now works with AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT, reading your store's real data through the WordPress Abilities API:
📊 Ask for a sales report for any period, broken down by product
🏷️ Describe a sale in one sentence and get the discount code built for you
🔎 Look up a customer's order, receipt history, and download log in seconds
Nothing changes in your store until you flip the switch yourself.

What an incredible week this has been across @awesomemotive teams and WPVibe.ai shipping things.
We passed 40k active installs on WPVibe 🚀😍
- Launched integration with AIOSEO (@aioseopack) so you can manage your SEO settings and details from your favorite AI tool.
- Improved integration with WPCode (@wpcodelibrary), so your AI can debut your code snippets, not just write them.
- Improved integration with WPForms (@easywpforms), so you can build & manage forms, surveys, etc directly from ChatGPT, Claude, etc.
- Launched integration with Easy Digital Downloads (@eddwp), so you can manage your WordPress eCommerce store from a single AI chat. Get sales reports, create new products, add discounts, etc.
- Launched integration with PushEngage (@PushEngage), so you can easily send push notifications without leaving your preferred AI workflow.
- Improved integration with WooCommerce, so store owners can easily manage their store inside ChatGPT, Claude, etc.
- Made it easy to securely upload SVGs via your AI agent without any extra plugins.
... and so much more in the works.
If you haven't given WPVibe.ai a try, you're missing out.

The most important thing we found building AI recipes for Easy Digital Downloads was a switch that ships in the off position.
EDD 3.7.1 now tells AI assistants what it can do. 25 operations across orders, customers, products, discounts, reports, logs and settings.
Connect Claude or ChatGPT to your WordPress store and it can read all of it on day one. It can't change a thing.
Our first attempt to create a product was refused, and it took us a minute to work out why. There's a toggle under Downloads > Tools > AI, "Allow AI to change store data," and it stays off until the store owner turns it on.
I think that's the right default. Reading is where you should start anyway. A sales report or a pre-launch audit changes nothing, so there's nothing to undo. When you want the AI building discount codes or resending receipts, you flip it on. You can flip it back.
The EDD team didn't stop at the switch:
• Creating an order, changing an order's status, or deleting a discount makes WPVibe stop and ask you to approve in your browser
• New discount codes are saved inactive
• Refunds aren't available to AI at all
We built six tested recipes on top of it and checked them against a store with known data. When the sales report said 8 orders and $213 for the last 30 days, that was right to the dollar.
If you sell downloads on WordPress, start with the sales report.

This is exactly why self-hosted WordPress stores powered by Easy Digital Downloads are in such a strong position right now.
AI tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity aren’t just sending traffic to marketplaces anymore. They’re reading real product pages, FAQs, reviews, changelogs, and docs directly.
With WordPress + EDD you control everything:
- Your product structure
- Your schema
- Your content
- Your discoverability
The stores that win in AI search are the ones that own their own platform instead of renting space on someone else’s.
Worth reading and saving.

The Allowed Products addon makes this easy when it's on. No product earns a referral until you allow it.
Works with WooCommerce, EDD, and MemberPress. Set it once, change it anytime 🥳

WordPress 7.0 is officially here. 🎉
We have been testing 7.0 since the early beta. Here is everything that's new and what it means for your site.
Here are the standout new features:
🤖 New AI Connectors Screen: A central place to connect your site to AI services without third-party plugins. Choose your provider (OpenAI, Google, or Anthropic), enter credentials once, and every plugin or theme that supports the AI API can tap into that connection.
✨ Refreshed Admin Experience: Cleaner typography, updated colors, and smoother transitions between screens (no more full page reloads when jumping between Posts, Settings, and the editor).
⌘ Command Palette Everywhere: Previously editor-only, now accessible from anywhere with ⌘K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows/Linux). Navigate, search, and run actions without touching the mouse.
📱 Responsive Block Visibility: Show or hide any block on desktop, tablet, or mobile without writing a single line of CSS. A feature page builders have offered for years, now built into core.
🕓 Smarter Visual Revisions: Compare two revisions side by side with color-coded overlays. Green = added, Red = removed, Yellow = modified settings. A game-changer for multi-author teams.
✏️ Custom CSS for Individual Blocks: A new Custom CSS field in the block inspector lets you style one specific block without affecting anything else. Live preview included.
🎨 Three New Native Blocks: Icons (with the full WordPress icon library built in), Breadcrumbs (auto-generated trails plus SEO benefits), and a consolidated Headings block (all 6 levels in one).
🖼️ Gallery Lightbox Navigation: Back and next buttons (and arrow key support) finally added to the gallery lightbox.
⚙️ Under the Hood: PHP-only block registration, pseudo-element support in theme.json, WP-CLI 3.0 with new wp block and wp ability commands, Font Library now works on classic themes, and minimum PHP is now 7.4.
⚠️ One Quick Note: Real-time collaboration (RTC) was pulled before release. The core team wasn't confident the current approach was robust enough. Still in active development.
Before you update, back up your WordPress site first. If you run a busy or mission-critical site, test on staging first.

My team @eddwp just shipped a real win for store owners.
🚩The quiet reason returning customers abandon checkout isn't the checkout itself, but getting caught in the login or password reset process.
🔓That's what magic login links solve, and they're available to all EDD users now.

Easy Digital Downloads just shipped Magic Login Links.
Returning customers can now enter their email at checkout and instantly get a secure one-time login link.
No password. No reset flow. Straight back into checkout.
This removes one of the biggest drop-off points in WordPress stores: forgotten passwords killing repeat purchases.
Setup is simple:
Downloads → Settings → Payments → Checkout
Links are single-use and expire for security.
This is a quiet but meaningful conversion win for anyone running an EDD store @eddwp

Translating my brands with leading SaaS translation tools would have cost us 7 figures annually!
For WPBeginner alone, six figures.
So last year I tried every well-known WordPress translation plugin instead.
Every single one slowed our admin to a crawl. Our post editor was practically unusable.
On our WooCommerce / EDD stores, the lag hit the entire checkout. Bad for conversions. Worse for revenue.
I kept thinking: why is this so hard?
In 2026, AI is good enough that small businesses shouldn't have to choose between site speed and going global.
So I asked our team to build the translation platform we actually wanted to use.
Today I'm sharing it with you. It's called Universally.
AI translates your entire website in minutes. Translations live on our cloud, not your database. So your site stays fast. Often faster, because we deliver from edge servers worldwide.
Multilingual SEO is fully automated. Hreflang tags, translated metadata, clean URLs, RTL support. All of it.
We've already translated 250M+ words during our private beta.
WordPress is live today.
Shopify, Wix, Webflow, and Squarespace are next coming very soon.
The free plan is genuinely free. No credit card required. You can have your site running in a second language in under 10 minutes.
If you've put off translating because it felt too expensive, too technical, or too fragile, this is for you.
Try it → universally.com
