If you think tides are high in Southern California now, just wait until king tides arrive from November to January. LA and San Diego just saw their highest tides on record Tuesday, but the Christmas Eve king tide will likely run about half a foot higher, and that's without a storm. Add a storm and water levels could break yesterday's record by 1-2 feet. Then, factor in potentially large surf, and that's why we're very concerned about severe coastal flooding and erosion on California's coast this winter.

At least 68 people were killed after two trains collided on Spain's Madrid-Seville high-speed line, and the death toll is expected to rise, a spokesperson said. This is the second major train crash in Spain this year on the same high-speed train line and involved the same trains from the same rail operators. Nvidia just released a free speech-to-text model that can transcribe up to 40 languages, but it only works on recordings, not live audio, so it’s a big step for meeting and medical transcription tools while still leaving real-time use to rivals like spr.ly/6010BHlyg2
