Another negative implication of blanket statementing fiction affecting reality is that it implies that the fiction you consume makes up the moral compass; as if all fictional works have the potential to be someone’s mythology when this is also not true.

Blanket statementing wether Fiction affects reality or not I think is ultimately the problem because it not only assumes all fiction has the same goal but also assumed everyone consumes it one way over the other; which is simply not true.
