GM Wanda main, 65% win rate in Season 10. I’m not the best Wanda player in the world, and I have no idea how this changes at the very highest level because I’ve never played there. This is mainly for newer Wanda players, people still learning her, or anyone who wants to improve and have more fun with the character.
First thing: pick Hex Fireworks over Mystic Burst. Even if you have a Doctor Strange on your team.
Mystic Burst is good, but some of you get access to it and suddenly forget Wanda has an entire kit. I keep seeing people switch to Wanda, walk straight down main holding Mystic Burst, and wonder why nothing is dying. Trust me, I get it.
1) Mystic Burst is situational. Yes, you can toggle it on and off, and yes, it can put out good pressure, but it should not replace everything else Wanda does. I run into Wanda vs. Wanda fights constantly this season, and I don’t understand why some of you chase another Wanda down with Mystic Burst. Toggle it off. You have Chthonian Burst, Scarlet Hex and your primary, use the rest of the kit. See a big target you can pressure? Turn it on. When the situation changes, turn it back off. Don’t leave it permanently on.
2) The modern version also lost one of my favorite things about the old Mystic Burst: you used to be able to fire it while using Chaos Control at the same time. Auto-track with Chaos Control while chasing someone with Mystic Burst was the dream. Now, once you’re firing Mystic Burst, you can’t use your primary alongside it.
3) Chthonian Burst is one of the strongest parts of her kit. It hits hard, has splash damage, and gives you way more freedom to chase targets. Throw down a Scarlet Hex or a Dark Seal, chase with your primary, add a Chthonian Burst or two, and watch the entire backline lose their mind.
Our backline in trouble? Throw a Chthonian Burst toward the diver while you peel back. If you toggle Mystic Burst instead, by the time Wanda finishes saying “the Sorcerer Supreme,” your whole backline might already be dead.
4) This is why I prefer Hex Fireworks. Dark Seal already gives you an opening stun, slow and Chaos Marks. Hex Fireworks adds another detonation with damage and Vulnerability, which gives you even more pressure and forces people to respect the space around you. If Jubilee is actually on your team, Mystic Projection also heals you while you reposition or chase. Manage your cooldown, so you can save yourself.
5) Mix up Dark Seal, Hex Fireworks, Chthonian Burst, Scarlet Hex and your primary depending on the situation. I’m not going to tell you the exact combination or how much of each ability you need to delete a 250 HP character, but almost any proper combination of Wanda’s kit is going to give you more than simply vanishing in, showing up, and holding Mystic Burst.
You have an entire kit. Use it. Mystic Burst is a tool, not Wanda’s entire identity. We play games to have fun, so mix things up, experiment with the rest of her kit, and trust me… you’ll have a lot more fun with her.
Holiday launch at work has been insane this week! Haven’t had much time or energy to game these past few days. You know those evenings when you finally get home, sit down, and just don’t feel like doing anything? That’s been me all week!
Luckily, Netflix just added the entire Final Destination collection! I’ve spent the last three evenings rewatching the first three movies, and honestly, it’s been great. Sometimes it’s nice to just switch off your brain, relax, and enjoy some good old-fashioned horror.
Tomorrow’s my day off though, and I’m planning to spend a good chunk of it catching up on Marvel Rivals! Speaking of Rivals, Season 11 is just around the corner. Really curious to see what they’ve got planned for us this time!
Anyway, enough about me. How’s everyone doing? How was your week, and what are you all playing or watching this weekend?

Never After Dark
⭐ 9/10
There’s something beautiful about going into a game or movie completely blind. Sometimes it doesn’t work out, but when it does, the experience can be incredible. How blind did I go into Never After Dark? I didn’t even know it was a Japanese movie.
I heard someone mention the title, saw another person say it was a must-watch, and decided to press play. No trailer, no synopsis, no expectations!
The storytelling is fantastic. The concept feels incredibly fresh, and the story is so unpredictable that I had no idea where it was taking me. Every time I thought I understood what was happening, the movie found another way to surprise me.
I’ve always believed that a great horror movie needs a great atmosphere, and Never After Dark absolutely nails it. The tension, the mystery, and the unsettling feeling throughout the movie all work beautifully together.
There are slower moments, but slow doesn’t mean boring here. Every time the movie slows down, there’s a purpose behind it. It’s building something, and when everything starts coming together toward the end of Act 2 and the beginning of Act 3, we’re treated to some of the best horror storytelling I’ve seen in a long time.
My biggest criticism? Like so many horror movies, there are moments where I feel the characters could’ve simply said, “Nope,” and avoided a whole lot of trouble. I won’t explain further because that would spoil the experience.
I recently gave Obsession an 8.5/10, and comparing these two movies really helped me settle on this rating. Obsession was incredibly entertaining, easy to follow, and executed its story almost flawlessly. But to a certain degree, you could see where it was heading.
Never After Dark is different. It has all the right pieces in place, and the way those pieces eventually come together is what makes it so special.
Is it more entertaining than Obsession? Probably not. But as a horror movie that every horror fan should experience? Absolutely! I can’t recommend this enough, especially to people who love horror.
Hope everyone is enjoying The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake!
The original was one to remember. It’s one of those games that left such a lasting impression on an entire generation of gamers!! I won’t be jumping into this one just yet. My backlog is quite overwhelming right now.
For those experiencing Ocarina of Time for the very first time, I hope you enjoy every moment of it. Don’t speed run this! I hope this game creates as many wonderful memories for you as the original did for me!
Spotted this massive Final Fantasy Resonance promotional artwork in Akihabara during my Japan trip last month.!
I just finished Chapter 2, and so far, so good! Really enjoying my time with it. Anyone else playing? How far are you, and what do you think of the game so far? Would love to hear your thoughts!
There’s actually a whole promotional event going on in Akihabara too! Inside one of the stores, there’s a QR code you can scan that sends you around the area to shop at different locations. You bring back your receipts, collect points or stamps (I can’t remember exactly 😂), and eventually exchange them for a Final Fantasy blind box!
It’s such a cool idea, and I love how Japan does these things. But as a tourist with a packed schedule, that was a little too much of a side quest for me.
I work in retail, and some of you can probably guess where. 😂 Some days are incredibly tough, but nights like tonight remind me why I love what I do.
Stayed until midnight with my team for our holiday changeover. Pizza, McFlurries, chicken nuggets, lots of laughs, and a whole lot of teamwork.
I always try to turn nights like these into something fun, and honestly, it’s moments like this that make it all worth it. Couldn’t ask for a better team!!
I’ve waited 20 years for this moment.
I still remember exactly where I was when I finished Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams. Sitting in my tiny bedroom, playing on a TV that couldn’t have been bigger than 14 inches. That ending moved me so much that I’ve spent the last 20 years hoping for another Onimusha announcement at almost every gaming showcase.
Even the music became part of my life. Rainy Day was a song that meant so much to me during my early dating years, and I still listen to the Blue Demon theme to this day. That’s how deeply Dawn of Dreams stayed with me.
Tonight, I finally finished the new Onimusha, and I loved every moment of it. The combat is incredibly smooth, the gameplay feels fresh yet familiar, and somehow, after all these years, it still feels like the Onimusha I fell in love with.
There are so many incredible games this year, but I can confidently say that Onimusha is my Game of the Year.
Thank you, Capcom, for bringing this series back. Thank you for giving someone who’s loved Onimusha since the very first game the chance to experience that magic all over again.
One request, please don’t make me wait another 20 years for the next one.

I saw a post earlier asking why some Jeff players refuse to Sharknado with Storm. I can’t find it anymore, so let me share my perspective as a Jeff main.
For context, I usually play around Diamond, with GM being my peak. I’m not claiming to be the best Jeff, but I’ve played enough to know when joining a Sharknado is worth the risk.
One thing I’ve noticed is that quite a few Storm players struggle with positioning and neutral play. Some play at terrible distance, hover up and down without accomplishing much, and don’t fully utilize her kit. When things start going badly, say 0-3, suddenly their entire strategy revolves around Sharknado.
That’s where things get complicated.
1. Sharknado isn’t automatically a winning play.
Just because Storm activates her ultimate doesn’t mean Jeff should automatically jump in. If you’ve been struggling with positioning, surviving fights, and contributing outside your ultimate, I’m naturally going to be more cautious about joining.
I’ve seen Storm players become so desperate to turn things around that they rush their ultimate without considering the team, enemy positioning, or potential counterplay. Even a well-timed Sharknado can fail if the enemy has the right abilities available. When the combo doesn’t work, somehow Jeff ends up taking the blame.
Storm chooses when to activate her ultimate. Jeff has to decide whether joining makes sense at that moment.
2. My responsibility is to the entire team, not just Storm.
This is probably the biggest reason I sometimes refuse to Sharknado.
Imagine we’re in a major team fight and our other support has already died. They might have been our primary healer, possibly with a powerful healing or defensive ultimate. Now Jeff is the only support left standing.
We all know Jeff can’t heal with his ult. Until our other support returns, our regular healing becomes even more important, and keeping the team alive is largely my responsibility.
If half our team desperately needs healing, why would I abandon them for a Sharknado that might not even secure a kill? Even if we eliminate two enemies, what happens if three teammates die in the process?
Sometimes the best thing Jeff can do isn’t making a flashy play. It’s keeping everyone alive long enough for our other support to return.
3. What happens to Jeff after Sharknado?
If the combo doesn’t go as planned, Jeff can end up surrounded by enemies with limited options to escape. Suddenly, now we’ve lost another support, potentially throwing the entire fight.
A good combo isn’t just about how many enemies you catch. It’s whether your team can capitalize on it and survive afterward.
Now, let’s talk about good Storm players.
I’ve encountered some incredible Storm players who understand positioning, know when to engage, contribute consistent damage, and survive without relying entirely on their ultimate. Those players are terrifying, in the best possible way.
The best Storm players I’ve encountered don’t need Sharknado to be effective. They already know how to contribute and win fights, and Sharknado is simply another tool to help the team. When the timing is right, I’ll happily jump in. Sometimes that combo is exactly what wins us the game.
I know Jeff mains have a reputation for sharing one brain cell. I get it, we don’t always help our own reputation either. 😂 But sometimes keeping everyone alive matters more than getting a few flashy kills. We all know what happens when the team desperately needs healing, Storm gets a kill or two, and everyone else dies. Somehow, Jeff gets blamed. Facts.
So next time your Jeff doesn’t join your Sharknado, give them a little credit. We might only have one brain cell, but some of us are using it to keep you alive.
A good Jeff knows how to Sharknado. A better Jeff knows when to.
Rivals players: what’s one thing that drives you insane when you see someone else playing your main?
I’ll go first. Wanda.
Walking forward with the Strange team-up, barely hitting anything, dies… then immediately does the exact same thing again.

The Sin (2024)
⭐ 6/10
I think I just watched one of the most confusing Korean horror movies I’ve ever seen.
The Sin has a fascinating story, with layers of mysteries, twists, and revelations that completely change how you understand what’s happening. There’s so much going on that I’m almost certain a second viewing would make me appreciate the storytelling even more.
Here is the problem. The Sin doesn’t just demand your attention. It demands your energy.
I was enjoying myself at first, but as the story kept unfolding, I found myself spending more and more time trying to connect everything. Eventually, the confusion started hurting my enjoyment. Instead of being excited about the next revelation, I was still trying to process the previous three.
If you’re looking for a casual horror movie to turn on, relax, and enjoy, this might drive you absolutely crazy. If you love movies that refuse to spoon-feed their audience, challenge you to pay attention, and reward you for noticing the smallest details, The Sin might be exactly what you’re looking for.
I respect the filmmakers for trusting their audience and not simplifying everything. I just think there’s a fine line between challenging your viewers and exhausting them.
Here’s the funny thing: I believe this could be an 8/10 movie for me on a second viewing. The problem? I don’t particularly want to watch it again. An 8/10 movie potentially hiding behind a second viewing that I’m not sure I have the energy for.
Happy Halloween, everyone!
If you’re going out, partying, handing out candy, or doing anything tonight, have an amazing time. Enjoy your weekend, make some good memories, and most importantly, be safe out there.
Happy Halloween! 🎃
A father of four, working hard to provide for his family, exhausted but still showing up every single day.
And then, when life seemed determined to make things even harder, complete strangers came together to remind him that kindness still exists.
This is why I believe in never giving up. Life isn’t always fair, and sometimes all we can do is keep moving forward.
No matter what life throws at us…
We Corgtinue.
If you’re ever struggling, remember that nothing worth fighting for usually comes easy.
Chase your dreams, big or small. Keep going, keep building, and hopefully one day you’ll look back and realize how far you made it.
You never know where that first step might take you.

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple
⭐ 7/10
Watching 28 Days Later in theatres remains one of my favourite movie experiences. I’ve followed this series ever since, but I wasn’t a big fan of 28 Years Later.
So when I heard we were getting what sounded like a spin-off, I wasn’t exactly excited. I wasn’t sold on the idea and went in with incredibly low expectations.
I honestly didn’t expect to enjoy The Bone Temple this much.
What I loved most was how simple the story was. Instead of trying to do something fancy or throwing endless zombie chaos at us, the movie focuses heavily on relationships and character development. It’s this tiny story unfolding in a world full of chaos, and surprisingly, that approach works incredibly well.
There are a few moments that genuinely make you stop and think, “What would I do in that situation?” It’s a very different approach from the rest of the series, but one I really appreciated. The acting is absolutely fantastic.
One word: Sampson.
My biggest criticism is how disconnected this story feels from the bigger picture. I loved these characters and their relationships, but by the end, I couldn’t help thinking, “That’s it?” It almost feels like an amazing side quest in a video game. You enjoy every moment, but once it’s over, you return to the main story wondering how much of it actually mattered.
I also questioned whether all the gore was necessary, although it didn’t really bother me.
There’s honestly nothing I actively disliked about this movie. It’s not perfect, and I probably won’t rewatch it, but I enjoyed it far more than I expected. Sometimes the smallest stories are the most interesting ones, even if they don’t change the bigger picture.
The thing about growing up and having responsibilities is that somehow you have more games you want to play… and less and less time to actually play them!!
As much as I want to jump into Phantom Blade Zero today, I still need to finish Onimusha, and I literally just started Final Fantasy Resonance. At the rate I play games now, Resonance is probably going to take me two months to finish.
No Onimusha, but somehow Phantom Blade Zero, a game that isn’t even out yet, makes Ultimate Game of the Year?
I’m excited for Phantom Blade too, but come on… Might as well throw GTA 6 on the list while we’re at it.
It's the moment you've all been waiting for. The nominees for Ultimate Game of the Year are...
🍸 007 First Light
🚶🏻 Big Walk
🔻 CONTROL Resonant
🗡️ Crimson Desert
🦸 Dispatch
🏁 Forza Horizon 6
⚔️ Phantom Blade Zero
