So proud to have worked with @_JustinGest for the past 10+ years on this project and grateful to @sociopublico and @fedfragapane for making our data come to life online with support from @SwissMFA and @CornellMig.
NEW: Migrant Rights Database expansion LIVE just in time for @UNmigration #IDMigration24! Check out migrantrights.info for a visualization of our 45-country study covering ~75% of the world's migrants & showing protection/implementation of migrant rights in 2020 & 2023!
Given #IDMigration24's focus on pathways, check out the latest @CornellMRI research on maintaining the right to family unity across international borders. We find that 40 of the 45 countries we studied provide a legal avenue for family reunification. migrantrightsinitiative.org/….

Excellent thread on today's High Court decision in #ASF17 and its ramifications, by @KaldorCentre's @annactalbot
#ASF17 handed down today, here are a few thoughts: there were two judgments, one by 6 judges, and one by Edelman alone. They all agreed that ASF17's claim to be released from immigration detention should be dismissed, but Edelman J's reasons were very nuanced

Listen to our brave and resilient client, Fahimeh, share her experience with family separation. My students helped tell her story to the Supreme Court and are working to reunite her with her spouse!
Replying to @IRAP
Fahimeh M., a U.S. citizen, married her Afghan husband and together they have 4 children. Her husband was evacuated from Afghanistan during the withdrawal of U.S. troops, but was denied entry to the U.S. after being held at a U.S. military base for a year.
Hear their story:
