OUCH. Bloc Québécois MP @patbonin absolutely clears the environment minister in this clip on Bill C-39.
My translation: “It’s sad to see the minister who is giving the impression of wanting to convince herself that the bill that’s directly under her purview isn’t a disaster.

Magpie River in Canada now has legal rights – just like a person.
Thanks to efforts by the Innu First Nation, it has the right to flow freely, maintain its biodiversity, be free from pollution, and sue if these rights are threatened.
Which Canadian landscapes do you think could benefit from legal protection?

A study by @MattBetts11 and co-authors shows declines in carbon and biodiversity are a signature of forest degradation.🌲Replacing old, naturally regenerated forests with young plantations and then regularly harvesting trees in NB is not good for the birds or for carbon levels!
Forest harvest in New Brunswick is resulting in large carbon losses. But storing carbon can also help maintain habitat for declining bird populations. Please help us get the word out about this paper that is being largely ignored by the media: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/…
