"How did I know you ran a 4:30 mile in high school? That's easy. Everyone ran a 4:30 mile in high school.”
Bernie Sanders has run a 4:37 mile 🤯

The person to whom I am married walked into the kitchen this afternoon wanting a snack and after checking what’s in the fridge and cupboards she made the choice to fix herself a snack of turnips

I was fortunate enough to be in the B heat that night, so we were warming up & doing strides on the backstretch as sub-27 happened. It was the most amazing sporting experience I’ve witnessed in person. But once it was over I had to race 25 laps on the track so that wasn’t great.
Today is the 10-year anniversary of @ChrisSolinsky breaking the American record in the 10,000 meters in 26:59 – the first non-African under 27 minutes. Recently sat down to talk to him about that race and his whole career in retrospect. apple.co/2YmWMMX

The local yarn shop has a recurring Friday meet-up to share knitting projects, progress, & fix mistakes or get help from each other. Given the #shelterinplace they can’t meet in person for a while, so we’re using Zoom instead. "It's so nice to see you, Judith. Oh hi, Kathy!" 🙌

My mom taught me how to knit over the holidays and I'm working on my first sweater. I'm using thread that's made from recycled blue jeans, which I thought was pretty neat.

I'm usually opposed to people playing music/video on their phone speakers without headphones, but this guy just fired up an episode of This American Life with @iraglass while waiting in the rental car line & I'm pretty pretty pretty okay with this situation.

.@IJasonAlexander The announcer of the Kansas v Auburn game just said, "and the fans are as angry as an old man trying to send back soup at a deli."

I'd be interested in hearing @JeffSpeckAICP's take on this
Having destroyed thousands — literally, thousands — of real town centers, Walmart is now creating faux town centers around its ailing stores. Food trucks, farmers markets, restaurants. First one in Loveland, CO. There’s a video. I’m losing my mind. walmartreimagined.com
One of the nice little moments in travel is when I realize the keys I carry in my pants pocket every single day can be put away in my luggage, placing the daily routine on hold, for now.
