This is why Canada's Stelco was shuttered, so that a US domestic steel producer (who also owns Stelco) could screw his US customers on price. Simple as that.
U.S. steel prices just hit their highest level in more than four years, per Bloomberg.
Benchmark hot-rolled coil has jumped 52% over the past year to $1,255 a ton, a level last seen in May 2022.
The reason: Trump’s tariffs are squeezing foreign supply. Steel imports fell 14% in the first nine months of 2026.

In case you missed it, this is BIG!: Ukraine has officially gained access to NATO’s procurement system!
Ukraine signed an agreement with the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA), opening access to NATO procurement mechanisms.
This means faster access to military supplies, fewer intermediaries, and new opportunities for Ukrainian defence manufacturers to compete for NATO contracts.

At Nenshi's presser on the UCP's Gerrymandering, it came out that the Ethics Commissioner has had to suspend his investigation into ministers accepting elite hockey tickets...
Because it overlaps with a CRIMINAL investigation!

Instead of focusing on things that could actually unite Albertans—like improving health care, education, and affordability—Danielle Smith has decided to double down on division and anger.
Thumping defeats in her separation referendum and in Calgary-Shaw should have been a wake-up call for the UCP, but instead, they are choosing to reignite culture wars on things like flags and DEI.
Albertans are smart. We can all see that the UCP is trying to distract from their failed record, and we're all fed up with it.

Check out this corporate PR disaster.
The Cleveland-Cliffs CEO admits on CBC that he bought Stelco to stop the Canadian company from selling into the U.S. market.
The Liberals under Justin Trudeau allowed Cleveland-Cliffs, a foreign company, to buy Canada’s largest steel company.
This is what happens when you permit the foreign takeover of critical Canadian industries.

🚨 First your OSAP was approved, so you enrolled! But now you’ve been abandoned.
Why? What happened?
Here’s the REAL reason Doug Ford broke OSAP.

The CEO bought Stelco so he could shut it down because it competed against his own company.
The Canadian government has his words to use against him in court.

He acquired Stelco to prevent Canadian steel and workers from competing with Cleveland-Cliffs.
How many US acquisitions of Canadian companies do you think are for this reason?
This is why we must strengthen the Investment Canada Act and increase usage and review.

Minister Quinn said he will not resign in Question Period. He got a standing ovation from Doug Ford’s Conservatives.
I guess they support thousands of students having their OSAP ripped away and nearly a billion dollars in public funding being wasted amid allegations of fraud.
So much for “respect for the taxpayer dollar”. #onpoli
