OMG! Just got tix to see @duranduran in Detroit! Splurged on amazing seats 3 rows from stage! My 14 year-old-self is DYING!!My 53 year-old-self is DYING!!! The only band I ever loved that I never had the chance to see in concert. Husband will need earplugs. Yes - that’s me at 14!

Just a few months ago Michael was in Syria. The news of the earthquake is unreal. I’m relieved he’s back in the US, and I’m praying for those affected.
I can so clearly remember playing catch in the basement with Ben. Playing MarioKart with Michael. Now they are adults out in the world. It went by. So. Fast.
Why do I spend more time fretting my shortcomings as a teacher than I do celebrating my successes as a mother? My role as a teacher is not my only role, nor is it the most important of my life’s work.
I sometimes review books I’ve read on Goodreads, taking care to express myself and support my feelings with reasons. My latest review actually drew “likes” from others. Guess I’ve learned what it takes to write a strong 5 star review. See picture below.

I had perfect attendance in all of my classes yesterday - the first day after winter break. On a typical day usually someone is absent, but wow! I was expecting that several would be out -extended vacations or illness. What a nice surprise!
