Big news: @dMatrix_AI is partnering with @nvidia. Our next-gen Raptor XPUs with our path-breaking 3D DRAM stacked memory will plug directly into NVIDIA MGX rack-scale systems via NVIDIA NVLink Fusion — delivering ultra-low latency inference for premium token services. Inference is an infinite opportunity, and it will demand a diversity of compute. Customers will be able to run a Raptor rack standalone, or alongside NVIDIA GPUs — matching the best compute to each phase of the workload. Grateful to @JensenHuang and the NVIDIA team for building an open ecosystem that makes this possible. Let's go build the future! 🔗 d-matrix.ai/announcements/d-…

Meet @dMatrix_AI , $500M raised to bypass memory constraints for AI inference. 128GB of on-chip SRAM per rack. That’s a density that competitors like @nvidia , @GroqInc , @cerebras might reach by the end of the year d-Matrix's flagship Corsair platform is producing that NOW

If intelligence is the log of compute… it starts with a lot of compute! And that’s why we’re scaling our GPU fleet faster than anyone else. Just last year, we added over 2 gigawatts of new capacity – roughly the output of 2 nuclear power plants. And today we’re going further, announcing the world's most powerful AI datacenter, located in southeastern Wisconsin. Fairwater is a seamless cluster of hundreds of thousands of NVIDIA GB200s, connected by enough fiber to circle the Earth 4.5 times. It will deliver 10x the performance of the world’s fastest supercomputer today, enabling AI training and inference workloads at a level never before seen. For AI training workloads, you need compute at exponential scale. That’s why we designed the datacenter, GPU fleet, and network together as one integrated system. This ensures a single job can run from day 1 at exponential scale across thousands of GPUs. Fairwater uses a liquid-cooled closed-loop system for cooling GPUs that requires zero water for operations after construction. And we’re matching all of the energy that is consumed with renewable sources. And of course, it is just one of several similar sites we’re lighting up across our 70+ regions. We have multiple identical Fairwater datacenters under construction in other locations across the US, in addition to our AI infrastructure already deployed in over 100 datacenters around the world, powering model training, test-time compute, RL tuning, and real-time inference at global scale. Too often during times like this, people go with the current and only later wonder, how did we get here? With Fairwater, we're charting a new path: doing the hard engineering work, bringing compute, network, and storage into one highly scaled cluster, and designing closed-loop energy systems to meet real-world computing needs. And partnering with local communities to ensure it's thoughtfully done in a way that is sustainable, creates new jobs, and expands opportunity. We are thrilled to see this take hold in Wisconsin, and we are just getting started.

With GPU costs skyrocketing and power consumption becoming unsustainable, d-Matrix is paving the way for a cost-effective and efficient future in generative AI inference. According to @sidsheth , Founder & CEO of @dMatrix_AI, the AI landscape is shifting rapidly, with 90% of workloads expected to focus on inference within the next 5–10 years. Enterprises are moving toward smaller, specialised language models (SLMs) that are more efficient and tailored to their needs. d-Matrix’s flagship product, Corsair, is designed specifically for generative AI models with up to 100 billion parameters, offering a more practical and cost-effective alternative to traditional GPU-based solutions. “We are building the world’s most efficient inference computing platform,” says Sheth, highlighting how d-Matrix is transforming AI by focusing on sustainable and scalable solutions for businesses globally. D-matrix joins the AI chip completion w/ its inference chip on PCI-e card named Corsair released. The core innovation here is tiered memory w/ SRAM “performance” memory on die, and DRAM “capacity” memory. This is a slight tweak to the in-memory compute paradigm that many AI chip startups are adopting (e.g. Groq and Cerebras). Others with 100% SRAM can deliver great performance, but it comes at great costs and less flexibility. You need to have many chips linked together at minimum to get the inference server to work. Similar to others startups, D-matrix is targeting on inferencing bc it is way easier to break in vs. training. And we expect the space of inferencing can be more commoditized and competitive vs. $NVDA's CUDA moat. A nice advantage and tweak is that it is based on PCI-e card form factor. One D-matrix Corsair card has 2GB SRAM and 256GB DRAM. Customers can mix and shift numbers of Corsair cards, up to 8 cards in a server. Competitors like Groq requires at least 64 Groq chips linked together to work because one Groq chip only has 230MB of SRAM. By adding DRAM in, one single D matrix card can also serve larger models too. And customers can start with one or 8 cards that are lower in CAPEX and flexible in design, much more similar to Nvidia GPGPU. For low latency fast inference on small models, it can generate tokens in 2ms/token because its SRAM runs at 150TB/S which is 15x+ faster than H100's 10TB/S HBM bandwidth. For slow inference that doesn't require snappy generations, it can leverage slow but large & cheap DRAM to host a larger model. An 8 card server can host 1trillion+ parameter model. For the software stack, it has its own called d-Matrix's Aviator. Supermicro $SMCI is the partner to make the D-matrix chip into a server and a finished rack system. Not a surprise, given SMCI is the leader in accelerator servers due to its engineering focus and flexible architecture. One Corsair card consumes 600w in a dual slot air cooled form factor. This is similar to H100's power consumption range. Overall, it looks very similar to Qualcomm's PCI-e AI inference card. But it is more polished w/ tiered memory and software stack. Potentially, $QCOM should acquire it although QCOM right now is partnering with Cerebras where Cerebras WSE handles the training and QCOM handles the inferencing.
