✍️ Classifying Individuals and Groups Is a Necessity Established by the Qur’an and Sunnah and Practised by the Imams of the Salaf!! Allah, the Most High, says: “Rather, We hurl the truth against falsehood, and it destroys it, and behold, falsehood vanishes.” [Surah Al-Anbiya 21:18] Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah said: “The one who refutes the people of innovation is a Mujahid (one who strives in the path of Allah). Indeed, Yahya ibn Yahya used to say: ‘Defending the Sunnah is superior to Jihad.’” Refuting those who oppose the truth is among the most distinctive characteristics of the scholars of this Ummah and the Imams of the religion. And there can be no refutation without first identifying and classifying those being refuted. Imam Ahmad said in the introduction to his book Refutation of the Jahmiyyah, describing the people of knowledge: “They repel from the Book of Allah the distortions of those who go to extremes, the false claims of the people of falsehood, and the misinterpretations of the ignorant.” This meaning has also been reported in a Hadith narrated on the authority of several Companions, may Allah be pleased with them, in which the Prophet ﷺ said: “This knowledge will be carried by the trustworthy and upright of every succeeding generation. They will repel from it the distortions of those who go to extremes, the false claims of the people of falsehood, and the misinterpretations of the ignorant.” From this, we recognise the error - rather, the misguidance - of those who belittle the importance of refuting those who oppose the truth. We also recognise the danger of this approach, as it opens the door to evil, religious innovations, and the distortion of the religion. Among the sound statements on this matter is what Shaykh Bakr Abu Zayd, may Allah have mercy upon him, mentioned in his book Refuting Those Who Oppose the Truth Is Among the Foundations of Islam. He dedicated the fifth section of his book to explaining the harms of remaining silent regarding those who oppose the truth, and the sixth section to explaining the benefits and fruits of fulfilling this legislated religious duty.

📣 Community Announcement | Lessons Resuming Today Alhamdulillah, as our lessons resume today at Masjid Daar Al-Hadeeth after a long break, we would like to remind everyone of the importance of observing good manners and proper etiquette when attending gatherings of knowledge. To ensure that everyone benefits and the lessons run smoothly, we kindly ask all attendees to observe the following guidelines: 1. Questions: All questions relating to the lesson must be submitted through the designated link only. Please do not interrupt the teacher during the lesson. 2. Respect: Remain quiet and attentive while the teacher is speaking, and avoid unnecessary conversations or distractions. 3. Good Manners: Show respect towards the teacher, attendees and the Masjid at all times. 4. Mobile Phones: Please ensure that phones are kept on silent throughout the lesson. 5. ✨ An opportunity to contribute towards building a house from the houses of Allah! 👉 Help Complete a Masjid Upon the Sunnah in Jigjiga, Ethiopia! Allah سبحانه وتعالى says: “And cooperate in righteousness and piety.” (Surah Al-Ma’idah 5:2) The Prophet ﷺ said: “The believers are like a structure, each part strengthening the other.” (Bukhari and Muslim) Our brothers in Jigjiga, Ethiopia, have begun establishing a masjid upon the Sunnah in an area where there is a great need for one. Alhamdulillah, £25,000 has already been raised, and only £8,500 remains to complete the masjid before Ramadhan, in shaa Allah. This is a great opportunity to aid in establishing a masjid upon the Sunnah, where Allah will be worshipped and the people will be taught the Quran and Sunnah upon the understanding of the Salaf.
