Chandler had chosen to share his walkout with a 100 year old Medal of Honor recipient and the image of one of the most decorated American veterans alive walking side by side with a fighter toward a UFC cage on the South Lawn of the White House on Flag Day and the 250th birthday of the United States was something nobody in that arena had ever seen before. The Medal of Honor is the highest military decoration awarded by the United States government and the men who receive it represent the absolute peak of American courage and sacrifice. Chandler bringing one of those men into the most important walkout of his career on the most historic fight card ever staged said everything about where his priorities were on a night that was already built around honoring the people who gave everything for this country.
