This student was born the year I taught her oldest brother. She’s in the room across the hall and we greet each other each morning. She sent me a candy gram 🥹

We could not agree more! Latino Teachers Matter!
Great read by @Latinos4Ed

So I have pink erasers available for Ss & 1 was breaking into 2 pieces. S was concerned.
Me: “Well, broken crayons still color & broken erasers still erase.”
Different S: “What about broken people?”
I wasn’t ready for that conversation, but *I’m* still here ❤️🩹🥺
Thoughts and prayers for all the #4thGrade teachers introducing the Latin root dict this week
I went for a run today and a group of bicyclists signaled they were going to pass me. The leader said “there’s a half-dozen of us,” but there were only four #UnitsMatter #mtbos
We used these to explore properties of polygons. As I passed them out, comments included:
“I know these. You clean your ears w/ them.”
“No, it’s a covid test!”
And I just hadn’t thought about it like that
I have not felt like a “good” teacher in a years
But
My menstruating students feel safe enough to tell me how they’re feeling and what they need and that means everything 💜✊🏼🩸
1) I just learned I have too much data & will spend the next few weeks synthesizing for my study
2) I’m grateful for an instructor that not only adapted to my needs but also prioritized my health as I continue to live w/ chronic pain @MidlandUEdu #Capstone
