At this point, I'd say that it's self-hosted Forgejo (I know that answer won't please many ppl) xitter.cf/thdxr/status/211492677…
Impressive... xitter.cf/bastidotnet/status/211…
If you thought Black October was wild, I predict Black Friday 2026 will be completely off the hook. Buckle up; it's only a month away.
I think it's inevitable that many programming language fanboys of the "just use X" type are going to get humbled very quickly by LLM-driven vulnerability research.
Pride goeth before a fall.
"...there are no best practices, and whatever exists will be gone in two months. It's tiring, folks."
Indeed...
Žižek: "...who will be held responsible if serious problems arise from our use of and reliance on AI – not just morally, but legally, with grave consequences for them? Nobody is even seriously considering this question..."
TL;DR: owning the model is the moat. xitter.cf/brian_armstrong/status…
We were able to fine tune an open weight model (Qwen3.5-9B) on proprietary internal data at @coinbase, and it out performed frontier models, at much lower cost and speed, for a specialized task (fraud prevention in this case).
I think we'll see more of this pattern inside companies. The frontier models are amazing generalists. But increasingly you'll see specialist models out perform on more narrow tasks, either working on teams, or by themselves.
We're making it easy to fine tune models internally for our employees. We even have a skill for it in our internal harness that makes it easy to spin these up and start training them:
"/fine-tune-and-serve-llm I want to fine-tune Qwen for payments risk review. help me get started"
I imagine we'll have some backend services that could be replaced entirely by this new architecture.
Just snagged a copy of this: goo.gle/SREbook
Looking forward to reading it, as it looks like much of it is an update reflecting the state of AI.
Meanwhile, over at the GNOME Code of Conduct Committee, someone just opened a bag of Doritos and they're about three chips in.

i’m having trouble reconciling the bezos api mandate and the “agents can’t use amazon”. that api mandate gave us aws. and now they deny the future.
(the famous bezos api mandate: every team must expose its functionality through service interfaces, and those interfaces must be designed to be externalizable)
AI progress is not slowing, and people shouldn't make the mistake of thinking that it's diminishing. It's more like the marginal dollar of frontier compute is buying different kinds of progress.
One of my absolute fave guitarists is playing the Arden Gild Hall, coming up on October 26th.
Barrie Cadogan's guitar playing is like what you'd get if you combined Grant Green, Johnny Marr, the Meters, Jeff Beck, the Pretty Things, and more into one player. @ArdenConcerts
Especially if you play guitar, or just appreciate pop/rock music in general, don't miss this show. Tickets: dice.fm/event/xeg5pl-wxpn-we…

How it feels to ask the Chinese ai models for help on something Claude won’t agree to
Surprised that nobody has built a solution based on rg and fzf to beat Finder on macOS. Finder is easily one of the worst and biggest pain points of using a Mac as a professional xitter.cf/evisdrenova/status/210…
Replying to @tealtoronto
grep and fzf are nice but don't have a nice and don't consider the body of the file (though i could prob use fff under the covers)
but there's also other things i use it for too:
- quick preview
- multimodal
etc.
