If you're not following John's account, by all means do so. He has some great insights into Israel, Ireland, antisemitism, and more!
I am not Jewish. But I am a proud Israeli citizen. I live in Tel Aviv. Despite the world having extremely opinionated views about the country I live in, few people I have come across on X (that don’t live here) know little of substance about Israel apart from their warped sense of history and reality. This is the first post of a series I will write entitled Everything You Think You Know About Israel is (Probably) Wrong. The points are not in any particular order. Spread the word.
Most Israelis (just over 50%) are not white. The devastating impact on European Jews of the Holocaust meant that the newly formed Israel in 1948 was largely populated by Jews fleeing persecution in Muslim-ruled countries predominantly in the Middle East and North Africa. These are known as Mizrahi Jews and when the State of Israel was formed they made up 80% of the Jewish population living here.
Jews have had a continuous presence in the land of Israel since around 1208 BCE, that’s 3,200 years — long before the creation of the state of Israel in 1948. The Muslim faith, in contrast, dates back 1,400 years (610 CE). Yes, when they lost majority rule in the 7th-century Muslim conquest they were not in the majority for centuries, but still lived in their ancestral homeland.
Arab terrorism against Jews existed before 1948. In 1929, for example, 67 Jews were killed in the Hebron massacre, attacked and slaughtered by the Arabs they lived and worked beside. My wife’s great-grandfather Ben-Zion Gershon (who was a local doctor that often treated the Arab community without accepting payment) was tortured, had both his eyes gouged out and was then murdered. This was after his daughter Esther was raped in front of him, and his wife Zahava had both arms chopped off and was left to die. This was just one of many similar massacres inflicted on Jews that day.
I will continue this series over the coming days.

Very pleased to have signed this letter standing up for British Jews in the face of the hatred being spewed by the Green Party.
Over 500 Conservative councillors have signed our open letter calling on Green councillors to stand up for British Jewish residents.
The Green Party has declared “Zionism to be racism”. Zack Polanski didn’t stay to vote against it. And yesterday, he told Laura Kuenssberg he wouldn’t overturn it: “I don’t think this is actually controversial.”
We’re asking Green councillors to disavow the motion, challenge antisemitism and reassure Jewish residents they’ll be represented without prejudice.
Silence is a choice.

The video produced by the DRCC involving grandparents does not represent the views of the Government. It was both inappropriate and demeaning to grandparents and has been removed by DRCC following my officials engagement with them.

Antisemitism in schools meant we had to change our daughter's school midway through year 5, then sell up and move areas to be able to send her to a Jewish secondary school - something we never envisaged as a secular family. It's a real issue and I'm glad it's being tackled.

I’ve seen a lot of abhorrent things on this app, but the immediate dismissal and ridicule by the British Left of a forthcoming government report on antisemitism towards Jewish children is just appalling. I naïvely thought that, when it came to children specifically, the usual suspects would be more empathetic (or at least more cautious), but alas. The abject cruelty is profoundly disturbing.
Ironically, of course, they make the case for Zionism better than any Zionist ever could. Herzl is vindicated time and time and time again.

That’s what the headline says, not the report. Furthermore, ‘in school’ can mean Jewish children attending school, as in they are of school age. Perhaps a random example but I would regularly say ‘I’m in school’ to older men who would hit on me as a teen not knowing my age.
I don’t know why you and Steve are playing semantics with an *arguably* imprecise headline in the Daily Mail in order to deny documented antisemitism faced by literal children. Documentation in an independent government report.
Do the details in the screenshots not move you at all? Do you have no shame or sense of decency? These are children in your own nation. They are your compatriots and are literal children. If you and Steve had any decency whatsoever you would delete your posts. It’s disgracefully cruel conduct that, by the way, only serves to make the case for Zionism.

A very important post.
Steve (@StevenGWalker74) is purposefully spreading disinformation denying antisemitism faced by British Jewish children. I had quote tweeted to say as much and that he should delete his tweet if he had any integrity. Rather than doing that he blocked me so he knows he is spreading disinformation.
As per a two second Google search, the 3 in 5 (60% ) number makes sense sense when looking at how the survey was conducted and the broader reality of how Jewish students experience antisemitism, *both inside and outside the school gates*.
By capturing all of these environments (detailed in the screenshots below) and looking at a student's lived experience both in the classroom and on the street, the independent government survey concluded that 60% of Jewish youth have faced antisemitism in some form.
I have never asked this in all my years of being on this site, but please comment this below Steve’s post and request a community note. Whatever one’s politics, denying the document experience of antisemitism of Jewish children is disgusting conduct. It is the lowest of the low and I kindly ask that everyone tries to stop this disinformation before it spreads further.

Criticizing Israel does not make one an antisemite.
However...
ONLY criticizing Israel, over and over like it's your singular purpose in life and NEVER mentioning any of the other heinous things so many other nations routinely engage in does, in fact, make you an antisemite.
