School leaders... Teachers... Learners... Improvement will ALWAYS feel uncomfortable. Don't fear the discomfort. Embrace it. The success you've been after will eventually follow the uncomfortable improvement. That's how this "getting better" thing works.

Something to remember before the kids get here. They are NOT: SPED kids EIP kids RTI kids 504 kids "Those" kids Low kids "That side of town" kids _____ kids Kids are kids. Kids are learners, not labels. Believe in & challenge ALL kids. No excuses. Otherwise, shame on us.

Our Board adopted a balanced budget ahead of July 1 start of our fiscal year. These last minute reductions (pauses? cuts? obstructions?) in federal funding undermine that budget and result in less services for our community’s kids. Seems @teainfo was blindsided, too. #TxEd

Good leaders fix problems.
Great leaders fix what causes them. When you're leading a team, it's easy to get caught up in solving what's urgent. Put out the fires. Move on. Survive the day. But transformational leadership? That’s not reactive—it’s proactive. Great leaders zoom out.
They ask the deeper questions.
They don’t just stop the bleeding… they find out what caused the wound in the first place. 🏀 In coaching, we don’t just correct a bad shot—we break down the footwork, the mindset, the reps behind it.
💼 In leadership, don’t just fix a missed deadline—fix the communication, the clarity, the culture that allowed it. If we want to build something that lasts, we have to go deeper. Problems are symptoms. Leaders are surgeons.
Go to the root.
Lead with intention.
Fix it before it breaks again. Let's lead at the level that creates real change.

❌ “Any questions?” isn’t a strategy—it’s a setup. 😅 If you want a real Thinking Classroom, you need prompts that actually get brains firing. 🧠💬 This visual list of question stems is pure gold for sparking curiosity, conversation, and deep thinking. Stick it in your planner, post it on the wall, or bring it to your next PLC. Because great thinking starts with better asking. ⬇️ buff.ly/lwJqiGq via @wheeler_laura #teachertwitter #learning #educators

🛑 💬 "Close your eyes. Take a moment to slow down and take a deep breath. Now ask yourself, how are you changing what you say to support growth mindset thinking? You will first need to adopt a growth mindset for yourself, and encourage others to adopt it as well." Because when people feel safe, they grow. READ ON for all the tips⬇️ buff.ly/KbpCxK8 #

Teaching all the state standards to mastery in 9 months isn’t possible. Prioritizing standards into categories will help your team focus its energy on the important skills students must know in a course or grade level. 🔗bit.ly/3vfkKfR #atPLC #PLCatWork #15DayChallenge
