this upd8 just presents so much nuance on the subject of candy and disproves a lot of sentiments regarding jade and candys narrative. be kind be empathetic and recognize how things can be if you dont act. communicate, use your voice. things can be bad but they can get much worse

karkat puts himself down in this obviously, but he still understands the mutual problem with the situation and how theyre both valid for their anger, especially jade. when he sees how things are for her, he just wishes he could talk to her again and open up

imagine youre karkat reading this exchange. seeing how awful things had gotten between you and someone you care about. an argument that isnt just for play like before, but pure mutual rage for one another. you would want to prevent that future as much as possible

and just that karkat can walk away from reading candy and thinking that he needs to apologize to jade… that means something man. seeing how things got destroyed cuz they couldnt talk, that fucking hurts. cuz he does care

the fact that he brings up two space players and candys impact and treatment of them is so sad. that even if theres a reason or purpose for what happened, it doesnt change the fact that callie and jades experiences are awful
