Silence isn’t neutral right now.
People across Iran are risking their lives to confront a regime that has ruled through fear, violence, and repression for nearly half a century. Tear gas. Bullets. Water hoses — in a country suffering severe water shortages — and still, the people don’t stop.
If you care about LGBTQ rights, women’s rights, religious freedom, ethnic equality, peace in the Middle East, fighting antisemitism, or opposing global terrorism, this is your issue too.
Speak up. Don’t look away.
It doesn't matter if antisemitism comes from the left or right. It's present -- and getting worse -- on both sides. It needs to be called out ON BOTH SIDES.
A sad reality - antisemitism is everywhere and it comes from both ends of the political spectrum. We saw two examples of politicians sidestepping instead of calling it out on @CNNSOTU yesterday. @DavidChalian discusses the unwillingness by some to put morality ahead of politics.
Antisemitism expresses itself by taking the worst traits of a society and blaming it on the Jews.

Have you noticed that Jews in Israel or around the world are not celebrating the unfortunate death of Palestinian civilians in Gaza?
Unlike the hundreds of thousands of Palestinian supporters cheering on the death of Israelis in cities across the world, we never wanted this.

I know there must be many Palestinians who oppose the Hamas massacre in which 1,300 Israeli Jews were slaughtered. They must think it's awful that babies were burned to death, that grandparents were executed in the street.
There must be loads. So many.
So where are they?

In 2015 a prominent Republican said this of Trump:
"In the 1840’s the 'Know Nothings' emerged as a political movement, scapegoating Irish and German immigrants for the problems of the nation...
The comparison of Trumpers to Hamas as people who can obstruct but not build is interesting and accurate.
Let's step back and take stock of what Trump and his supporters and enablers (collectively, "Trumpists") are doing to the GOP and the country right now. (ATTN @davidfrum, @DavidAFrench, @Peter_Wehner, @benjaminwittes, @YAppelbaum.)
Trump is leading a truly fascist movement. The only policy is to keep power at all costs, and this is the result.
PA State Senate GOP Majority Leader @SenatorKimWard says she only signed a letter asking Congress to throw out her state’s electoral votes because “if I would say to you, ‘I don’t want to do it,’ I’d get my house bombed tonight.” nytimes.com/2020/12/09/us/po…
Rudy's a superspreader of misinformation and covid. TBD which is more dangerous.
She’s not trying to take away anyone’s guns. She wants common sense measures, just like the majority of NRA members.
When my son Peter was 3, they were doing active shooter drills in his school. That's not ok. We need to address gun violence in this country with common sense legislation like enacting universal background checks. #TimeForChange #OH01Debate
DeWine is already warning that if Ohio can't get its act together and current trends continue, then in-person schooling is a risk. Wear a mask and vote for @KateForCongress.
My five-year-old had his first day of in-person school in 6 months last week. He said he was most excited "not to have to mute and unmute." We need to tackle this virus so we can continue to reopen safely for our workers and our kids. #OH01Debate
This has been true since the very beginning and it's still true now. It's not safety OR the economy. It's safety IS the economy.
We need leaders who understand that the stronger our public health response, the sooner we can open the economy. #OH01Debate
I like presidents who don’t inspire kidnap and murder.
BREAKING—A man arrested after allegedly threatening to kidnap the mayor of Wichita, Kansas, over the city's #COVID19 public mask ordinance. The man expressed the desire to “kidnap” and “cut the throat” of the mayor. Wow. Anti-mask misinfo just so divisive. cnn.com/2020/10/17/us/wichit…
