General intertribal principle: If you're going to openly declare your hatred for a trait your declared enemy tribe possesses, don't be surprised if they ascribe a different flavor of that same trait to you and your tribe.
Super-insightful!
Trump bombing Iran, Mamdani winning the NYC democrat mayoral primary, and Cluely's raise reveal a lot about the architecture of power. Attention → Speculation → Allocation is the new supply chain
The bombing was yet again a Trumpian inversion of system architecture - flipping how information and decision-making traditionally flow and raising social media dynamics above all. Mamdani's win was very interesting for many reasons, but really highlights that attention is the path to institutional override (just like Trump, but from the other side). And Cluely is the synthesis of attention capture capability - and attention as a fundable asset class.
Attention is the raw material of economic, political, and military action. But speculation is what operationalizes that attention: the bets people place (emotionally, politically, financially) on what narrative will become real.

You still annoyed, Bruce @schneierblog?
“Crypto” Means “Cryptography,” not “Cryptocurrency” schneier.com/blog/archives/2…
Yes&, @allenf32 notice how the liberals tend to focus more on recent timespans while conservatives zoom out to take a much longer view, e.g. on changing temperatures or CO2 levels on Earth, or hard money vs fiat currencies...
Myopic on either space/relationships or durations.

Listening to Justin at the 1:40 mark just absolutely bodyslam Anatoly as a narrow-minded technologist on the Solana island of quality-devoid circle-jerkers 😳😂
Great content @bankless!
LIVE NOW -- Ethereum vs. Solana
That’s the debate we’re having today. On Ethereum’s side, we have @Ethereum Researcher @drakefjustin, and on the @Solana side, we have Solana’s Co-Founder @toly
They give us the good, the bad, and the ugly of each other’s blockchain, settling their endgame towards the end of the episode. We tried our best to give both guests time with minimal intervention. At times, it went well, and at others, it caused deep semantic rabbit holes. As we said before, this is likely our spiciest show. But overall, both guests were able to communicate their messages.

This was a great take, and Eric deserves a ton of credit for thinking it and saying it when very few believed! 👏👏👏

Imagine Harari railing against encryption, locks, safes...
Is he against assay equipment, too?
Wonder if he'll ever realize and admit his mistakes.
When I say that Bitcoin is a currency of distrust, I'm just repeating what Bitcoin fans themselves say. There may be good reasons not to trust the banks and governments that create dollars, yens, and other currencies – but that doesn’t change the fact that the preference for Bitcoin is based on distrust of human institutions. Why is this an alarming development? Because the whole purpose of money is to create trust between strangers. Financial devices like currencies, bonds and shares – 90% of which are just data in computers – build trust between millions of strangers, who can then pool their knowledge and resources together, and cooperate. Humans control the world because we learned to do this. If we now lose trust in human institutions, this will limit the amount of money and handicap economic activity and cooperation. I hope that humanity finds a way to build trustworthy human institutions, instead of adopting technologies of distrust.
