Slow editing, with deliberate camera moves and performances, are cinematic gold. But don't do them for the sake of making a oner. Do them for a reason.
Movie chase scenes traditionally need fast cuts to heighten the energy and excitement.
Peter Hyams took the opposite approach while directing the gritty Los Angeles vice cop thriller BUSTING (1974).
Elliott Gould and Robert Blake pursued the bad guys for 105 seconds with only FIVE CUTS.
Two years before the Steadicam was invented, the crew had to use a doorway dolly, a camera car and a studio dolly to execute these kinetic long takes.
A bold filmmaking choice that demanded precise choreography and 100% effort between the actors and camera crew.

The show that changed my life. I directed two episodes in season one. I was asked by showrunner Joel Surnow to come on board for the whole of season 2 as a director and producer. I accepted and spent the next 5 years directing close to 70 episodes and the TV movie 24 Redemption. I was surrounded by the best cast and crew in the business and given scripts by an exceptional writers room that wrote weekly stories that always ended with edge of your seat cliffhangers. If you’ve never seen it, check it out, if you were a loyal viewer, thx for the loyalty over the years.

I had a long conversation with the great Larry Fessenden about his wonderful new film Trauma, almost directing an Orphanage remake, the narcissism around AI and why we were wrong about Digger. It’s a good one. Really love talking to him.

Fundamental misunderstanding of what makes Pattinson compelling. Should be a Bond villain with another fuckass voice.

The two mystery actors are described as “notable and established names.”
