Databases for Palestine

All our websites will be offline briefly for security updates.

This was painful to build: you may now search the @databases4pal archive by the number of people Israel massacred or maimed in a single event. Important note: we only have a comprehensive archive of large massacres starting the 2nd half of Sep 2024.

1/2 - New feature: sophisticated filters and search tools to investigate the genocide.

We just published 3 more tributes to martyred journalists from Gaza, authored by their colleagues. 1/ Haider Al-Masdar | حيدر المصدر stopmurderingjournalists.com…

New feature: we now display the "yellow line" on all geolocated uploads and events. Please note: This is the original IDF boundary posted in December of last year, not the current reality on the ground (which is even worse).

New feature on Genocide dot live: photographs. Until today, the site was just video archival. We now archive photographs, with the same detailed categorization as videos. Photos will be added to the map soon. Without memory, there can be no justice. 🙏🇵🇸🪁

Minor new feature on the genocide dot live map: Geolocated videos can now be played without leaving the map.

New feature on @databases4pal: We created a tool to feature a mutual aid campaign from Gaza on the home page of our website. A different campaign is highlighted every hour.

1/ Website launch. IDF Movements is designed to help researchers & human rights attorneys investigating war crimes in Gaza. The software is part of @databases4pal's efforts to build memory, so that one day there may be justice.

1/ Researchers: We just launched a forced displacement order archive for Lebanon. We @databases4pal will update this database daily, as Israel issues new displacement orders targeting Lebanon. (Link to archive at end of thread)

1/ We just released some software to track incitement targeting journalists.

Working with @gazamaps on how to visualize 2 years of unrelenting forced displacement orders. Here are over 150 forced displacement orders, mapped, in chronological order. These are (we think) all of the digital FDOs. We are still mapping the leaflets.

We just launched a blog. We now have the ability to self-publish without relying on a platform. We won't publish too often. Maybe once or twice a month. Perhaps more at first. stories.genocide.live

Update: The fundraise is over. We hit our goal. I want to thank everyone who contributed. We have enough to implement our new censorship-resistance measures. We build accountability together. 🙏🇵🇸🪁

1/3 - We need to raise $10,000. That is how much it will cost to add censorship-resistance features to our archives. This is a one-time ask. We are not fundraising off the attention. We are trying to secure our archives so human rights lawyers can continue to use them.

New home page for Gaza Maps @gazamps rolled out last night. Hopefully it makes the site easier to navigate for researchers.

1/2 - Databases for Palestine needs your help to build memory and accountability. We are fundraising. We've archived over 14,000 videos of the genocide, built displacement mapping software, & even (legally) took down an IDF blackmail website. Help us do more.

Episode 5: Mapping the GHF Killing Fields Learn how to explore our interactive map of the GHF sites, integrated with an up to date IDF-designated kill zone. Our first video on GHF.exposed.

GHF.exposed is live. The website links to custom GHF mapping tools and nearly 150 videos related to the GHF Killing Fields. I will make a training video later today.
