Also, Jay z is trying to manipulate yall. If a label wants your masters, that means your music is profitable. They want a percentage of your music because the percentage can be worth millions of dollars. Jay z was able to purchase his masters from the label because his masters aren’t that valuable. His wife’s catalog is significantly more valuable than his. Drake’s catalog is worth well over a billion dollars. Jay-z entire catalog is around $100M Which catalog yall think a label would fight tooth and nail to hold on to? A label fighting for a percentage of you publishing means your masters is more valuable than some of their artists entire career.
