I know I don’t use this platform like I used to but, come on: I produced an interview with the new president of @MineWorkers and another piece with @stellaaykroyd and her dad @dan_aykroyd (Elwood Blues, as you may know him in this context).
But, really, tune into the whole show.

My ONLY regret in the final product is not being able to mix in Rhett singing to Scott “Oh, Celeste…” from “Timebomb” to illustrate his voice was back. It just didn’t quite work. And, plus, the conversation was so damn good, there was such a limited time for music…
Thanks to @nprscottsimon and intrepid producer @davemistich for having me on @NPRWeekend. It's pretty obvious why Scott is getting inducted into the radio Hall of Fame.

.@rhettmiller is one of the best to ever do it. It doesn't hurt he always seems to be in the running for nicest guy on planet earth. Everyone on the Weekend Edition crew has been converted as a fan because of this charming little talk with @nprscottsimon: npr.org/2025/10/11/nx-s1-549…
Had a real good time putting together this interview with @Wednesday_Band_. Enjoy it, I promise you will: The inspiration behind rock band Wednesday's new album 'Bleeds'

Sorry for the absence, folks. Social media hasn’t been my thing all that much lately aside from monitoring things for work. Speaking of which, I’ve changed jobs and am no longer working (fully) from home:
Admittedly, I rarely use this platform much anymore. But on a night like tonight, I wanted to take Grok for a spin. This was the first question I asked it and, well:
I have no idea how I missed this story on West Virginia and immigrant labor from @pkwsj back in May, but I just came across it doing some poking around on a story I'm working on about @JimJusticeWV and the potential Greenbrier Hotel auction: wsj.com/politics/policy/west…
For a guy who seemed to be flirting with a White House run — and at the very least saw Harris’ unchallenged ascension as nominee as problematic, @Sen_JoeManchin seems to have quite the positive take on Walz:
This is an op-ed on @FoxNews. foxnews.com/opinion/marjorie…
The certainly isn’t an endorsement by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s a rather read-between-the-lines take from @Sen_JoeManchin on the differences between @JoeBiden and @realDonaldTrump on the border:
It’s the once-a-week-or-so scroll and news like this that reinforce my decision to quietly step away from this hell hole.
X (formerly Twitter) has suspended the account of Alexey Navalny’s widow, Yulia Navalnaya. She created the account just one day ago, when she announced she would continue the work of her husband.

Just dropping in to say that pepperoni rolls and coffee is a grossly un-talked-about breakfast pairing.

America, as democracy remains in peril: “We don’t trust traditional news!”
CNN: “Okay, here’s Charles Barkley.”
In case they already aren’t, @thephantomsix should be one of your favorite bands.
I know it’s not my beat anymore, and I rarely spend time on Twitter as it is, but think of all the effort @RepAlexMooney has put in over the past few years to lose out on this:

So, in a strange turn of events, I checked my vacation time accruals and it looked like I’d been shorted some time off. As it turned out, I was owed nearly 100 hours of vacation time. It’s been fixed.
This is one of my greatest achievements/surprises in my working life.
I volunteered last week to work a reporting shift today. It was a hell of a weekend and am completely spent. But I am glad to flex some other muscles (and, well, holiday pay): npr.org/2023/10/09/120471581…
As a person who expects 30 more years of working in news ahead of him, I have to say this instrumental runs in my head a lot (though, I affix no exact nation-state or conflict to it): youtube.com/watch?v=u4zhvarP…
