It’s Debbie. I'm an immigrant, a former congresswoman, a gun safety advocate, and the Democrat running to defeat Sen. Rick Scott. He won by just 0.12% of the vote last time. Now, Senate control could all come down to Florida. Will you give now to help me flip Florida blue?

The is a perfect illustration of the difference between the two parties. Dumbed-down platitudes and slogans versus facts, history and reality. Unfortunately, this country has too many people that consume a steady diet of the former and none of the latter.

My dad, Attallah Amash, was born on this day in 1940. What a life he’s lived. In 1948, Israeli forces expelled him and his extended family from their homes in Ramle and Lod. He was shot at, but he wasn’t afraid. “At that age, you don’t think of dying,” he once told me. He had little food or water, walked on rough ground without shoes, and slept under trees and in shacks with animals. He was homeless and moved from place to place for years. He survived for a time in Ramallah on the charity of others. “But God was good to me,” he says. In 1956, America welcomed my dad and his family with open arms as Palestinian refugees. He began a new life, built a business, met and married my mom, and had three sons—one of whom would later be elected to Congress to defend the Constitution and help preserve this land of liberty. My dad will always be my inspiration. Happy birthday, Dad.

Stefanos Tsitsipas says Roger Federer has inspired the world the most & had the biggest impact: “If we go by the numbers, Novak Djokovic is definitely the best. He breaks one record after another. He keeps the thirst, while he has nothing left to prove. That's his character. He's never happy. It's like he's always trying to prove something to someone.. If the criteria is who has inspired the world the most & who’s had the biggest impact, it's definitely Roger Federer, by a wide margin. I don't think there will be anyone else who can match him.” (via Kaohmepinh)

Fourteen years ago, when the big three automakers were struggling to stay afloat, my administration and the American people stepped in to support them. So did the auto workers in the UAW who sacrificed pay and benefits to help get the companies back on their feet. Now that our carmakers are enjoying robust profits, it’s time to do right by those same workers so the industry can emerge more united and competitive than ever.

John McEnroe, after the Cincinnati final: “What Alcaraz has done in the last year is unbelievable. He's put himself in a position where you talk about him in the same way as Djokovic and Nadal in a way which is incredible. The best player I've ever seen at his age. It's incredible how good he is already” Source: Eurosport 🗣️

A central bank ought to be able to say, without equivocation, that its liabilities are legal tender forever. To seek a tactical advantage by making a part of its currency hot potato (so it gets spent, or boosts banking liquidity) is a strategic own-goal: It hurts credibility.

Governors now dictating what colleges should(n’t) teach. Makes sense. What do I know, got a Masters from Berkeley in a “Niche Major” — Business.
Desantis today says if students want to study “niche majors” they can go to schools like Berkeley, but FL colleges are now going to solely focus on “the basics.”
