Ummm… we need to talk about Tesla’s latest Full Self-Driving software version 12.3.3. Last night FSD v12.3.3 was downloaded to my Tesla Model 3 via an over-the-air update while it sat parked in my garage.
This morning my car drove me from my house, to lunch, then to the gym, then back to my house. MY CAR DROVE ME. The only time I had to disengage FSD was when pulling into my neighborhood, my car smoothly came to a stop to let a woman cross the street who was walking her dogs but she stopped too and waived me through so I disengage FSD and made the turn myself so she could carry on with her walk.
THEN this afternoon my Tesla drove me, door-to door, over 230 miles across the state of Florida to Miami. I repeat: MY. CAR. DROVE. ME. TO. MIAMI. The only time I disengaged FSD was when going through a toll section on I-75 because I wasn’t quite sure what it would do so I just took over. Beside that IT DROVE ME, even through downtown Miami during rush-hour. It was smooth, confident, and drama free.
To be honest, FSD (beta) software v11, and previous versions, were quite rough/glitchy in my experience; but since Tesla has switched to end-to-end neural network training with FSD v12… IT IS NEXT LEVEL. It’s a quantum leap. I can’t believe what I am experiencing. I want to shout it from the roof tops. The drives today were not only stress-free, they were incredibly relaxing. I actually felt safer with FSD on than with me driving on my own, which is the first time I have ever felt that way using FSD. v12 has changed evening.
My mind is blown. This technology is going to change/save lives! I am thrilled that we have gotten this far. The over-the-air updates are coming more and more frequently, so it’s going to continue to get even better from here; eventually getting to a level that is many times smoother and safer than a human driver could ever possibly be.
What is really astonishing is that this is not some crazy closed off technology on some rare experimental prototype vehicle. Anyone can experience what I experienced. EVERY NEW TESLA IS CAPABLE OF THIS*. A car that YOU can get TODAY can do this. That’s amazing!
After experiencing what I’ve experienced today there is no question in my mind that open-world fully-autonomous vehicles are possible; and it is coming much sooner (in a Tesla near you) than most people realize.
Bravo

I LOVE my Tesla Model 3 Performance. It’s like having superpowers. It’s like the Iron Man (Mark III) suite in car form. The performance for the money is unmatched. I take it to track events about every other month and it hangs with cars costing several times more. Its UI, software, and self-driving is unmatched by any car at any price. I can afford pretty much any car, including exotic/hyper cars, and I still chose this car. It’s just SO good at so many things. I can do a cross-country road trip with my family in two days, then drop them off at home and head straight to the track for the weekend and get in all my run groups (which I’ve actually done). It’s the Swiss Army knife of cars. Full Self-Driving is revolutionary. FSD handles all of the boring, monotonous driving (heavy traffic, straight roads) and I drive only when it’s fun (green light launches, curvy roads, and on the track). Did I mention I love it? So yah, it’s awesome.
Nothing else as quick can be bought anywhere close to the price of a Tesla Model 3 Performance that we tested. motortrend.com/reviews/first…

There has never been an excuse to drink and drive. With @Tesla expanding their Cybercab/Robotaxi services area across #Houston, there are more ways than ever to get home safely after a night out.
Plan ahead, make the smart choice, and never get behind the wheel impaired. #DontDrinkAndDrive

My favorite quote from last nights $TSLA call underscores why shares are going higher.
Ashok Elluswamy (head of AI) responding to a question of how close are traditional auto makers from getting autonomy right
“Yeah. It's easy to get to the first 90% and make a cool-looking demo. But when you get in the long tail of this problem, it's so long that people don't realize anyone with their sane mind should not attempt to solve this problem”.

Tesla said today that they’re rebuilding the entire in-vehicle navigation system from the ground up with AI. It’s going to have voice integration, and will learn your personalized preferences:
Ashok: “It’s only right that we shouldn’t be depending on external people’s maps. So we are building our own maps, but not like the same way as traditional maps.
We are building an entire new architecture with essentially AI-based mapping and navigation. It’s going to be super awesome. It’s going to be integrated with voice. You can talk to it and ask for different routes. It’s going to learn your personalized preferences, plus also the fleet preferences. The collective intelligence of all the cars are going to flow into making the maps and navigation.
You’ll see the start and end of trips already use this technology pretty soon as part of the V15 release. Over the next several months, it’s just going to take over all of the navigation functions, parking, destination handling. We’ll know you better than you know yourself in some regard for the driving tasks. It’ll handle it fully.”
Can’t wait for V15. It’s going to include so many new features.
Porsche 911 driver orders Model Y Performance
Convinced by FSD Supervised, ride quality & Grok SI integration
I drive a Porsche 911 daily, and never thought I'd consider a @Tesla. Until now.
I just ordered a Model Y Performance. Here's why.
I have my 2024 Model 3 Performance in for a little track readiness inspection. The Model 3 (Long Range) loaner they gave me is BY FAR the best built Tesla I have come across in my almost 15 years of driving literally hundreds (if not thousands) of Teslas. It’s solid as granite.
My #1 gripe with Tesla vehicles over the years has been inconsistent build quality/fit-and-finish, and NVH. It has gotten progressively better over the years, and the build quality on this car is truly next level, by any standard. 10 out of 10. I hope this is the new standard because it was the missing link in an otherwise truly extraordinary line of vehicles.
The front facing bumper camera and return of the physical turn signal stalk (ideal for giving close-windowed point-by on the track) are also very welcome improvements.
Shoutout to @larsmoravy and the Tesla Engineers for their attention to this matter. Keep it up.

Spotted: 4 Cybercabs at the Titusville Supercharger 👀⚡
Four of them. At the same time. Tell me Robotaxi isn't coming to the Space Coast soon 🤖

YES!!! THIS!!!
(see what I did there?)
Seriously though- yes, this.
