If you're self employed you get the privilege of paying 100% in addition to covering 100% of your social security etc. Obvious it's going to be increasingly difficult to be self employed especially if you do so successfully
Theย New York Health Act would create a universal single payer health plan.
"Single payer" means that there would be no premium payments; all costs would be covered by tax revenues.
"Universal" means that it would apply to all state residents, regardless of immigration status.

sometimes codex just ignores usage limits completely and I tell myself it's because OAI thinks I'm working on some interesting data for them. I've been running for two days on 0% remaining usage limits (and it's not using luna - same model I selected, etc)
Yes, modern students are struggling, but I don't understand the test maker motivation for dumbing down their tests? It makes your results (your product) long term useless. What drives this?
Most people do not realize just how easy the AP exams have gotten. They are not college level.
Why/how have they become so easy? What's going on?
This might shock you... A brutal new piece in Education Next just dropped, saying the decline in rigor of the AP in the last two decades is, in large part, because the content has been GUTTED. For example:
โ AP Biology cut 40% of its material
โ Required lines from the Aeneid in AP Latin halved
โ Spanish Lit reading list cut from 56 works to 38
Then the questions themselves have become absurdly easier. Readability measures show English passages have fallen multiple grade levels, and some now include footnotes defining basic words...
A 2025 AP English prompt included footnote definitions for words like "optimism" and "pessimism."
At the same time, scoring was recalibrated so that more students pass: guessing penalties disappeared, rubrics grew more generous, readers were told to give students the benefit of the doubt, etc. โ "no one at College Board had any incentive to maintain rigor."
College professors are now seeing students arrive with AP credit who lack basic content knowledge and writing ability. The College Board insists the exams have not become easier, but everybody familiar with them knows they've become an absolute joke.
Advanced Placement is no longer advanced. This is not college level.
It must be replaced.
very typical american NIMBY result where AI usage by the general population is increasing (about 60% with daily/weekly usage lower but growing quickly), but people don't want to allow building the supercomputers to power it

I never really RL'd my finetunes because I didn't have the resources to do it properly. I've started doing this now and I was so stupid not to try harder and make it work with what I had
I know this is community noted, but i know two different people who don't know each other who each saw something similar in the same county while with their significant others (who also saw) in 2010 and 2011.
A dash cam, a rural road, and a figure that doesnโt look like a costume.
Late night, May 16, 2009, Lumpkin County, Georgia. A sheriffโs deputy is driving about 55 mph on a curvy rural road in the Frogtown area near the Chattahoochee National Forest. A civilian passenger is with him. Something large and dark bursts from the right and crosses directly in front of the patrol car. The deputy hits the brakes.
The audio is raw: โWhat the crap? What was that? Did you see that?โ โYes.โ โHoly crap. What the heck was that?โ โThat was on 2 feet, wasnโt it?โ โYeah.โ โOh my goodness.โ
They stop and search. The passenger reports the figure still moving back and forth off the road as the deputy scans with his light. The grainy video shows a tall upright walker crossing past the guardrail in long, fluid strides. Enhancements make the arm swing and gait clearer โ the kind of movement that does not match a typical costume or a bear.
The sheriff later called it a hoax โ two college kids in a gorilla suit. On a night that wasnโt Halloween, and with no photos or confessions to back it up, that explanation still has to carry the whole clip. North Georgia has a long history of reports. This one is fleeting, but the dash cam and the unscripted audio make it harder to dismiss than most.
What holds for me is the combination of those genuine reactions and the morphology. Two people who werenโt looking for Bigfoot that night sound genuinely alarmed. The figure is clearly bipedal, furry, and covering serious ground in a couple of seconds.
Where do you land โ hoax, misidentified animal, or real Bigfoot in the headlights? ๐

turns out swiss ephemeris, the library everyone uses for astrology calculations, has a decent amount of errors and mediocre accuracy in many scenarios like case coordinate-conversion. not that it matters, but they charge $1k ish I think for commercial use bugs and all

โผ๏ธ French lawmakers voted for an internet traffic tax that the makers of VLC say would cost them more than โฌ1M a year.
Content providers would pay โฌ0.055 for every gigabyte sent to French users, as counted by ISPs. Its Socialist authors expect โฌ10B a year.
The government opposed it, warning that about half the bill would fall on smaller providers, many of them French.
It passed 11 votes to 10, with 35 of 577 deputies present.
