Half of farmland sold last year went to non-farmers including wealthy individuals trying to avoid inheritance tax.
It's right that tax changes will ensure everyone pays their fair share - and young farmers can realise their dream of buying their own farm.

The country is just about to undergo Harvest 2023 where you will see almost every farm worker, tractor, combine, trailers and large farm equipment mobilizing on Britain’s roads. Travelling farm to farm to harvest crops that will then appear in supermarkets, restaurants etc
Every year we face frustrated & angry drivers who are not expecting to see so much large machinery on the road at all times of the day and night.
We would love to for you to get behind us and help us bring in the harvest.
Help us move around by not trying to jump in between convoys or try and get past us on narrow roads. Leave extra time for your journeys for the next 7 weeks.
We always have an escort driver travelling with the combine harvester, this will display wide vehicle signs and is there to warn oncoming traffic to slow down or even pull over as quite often there is not enough room for the combine and another vehicle.

With blueberry growing in the UK being squeezed so much by cheap imports, it's resorted to turning them into compost. These bushes were some of the first planted in the UK. As a nation, we are happy to outsource our food security. How sustainable is that model?
