St. John’s Exhibition Game 1 Thoughts💭 🤔
• Babacar Sane is SO MUCH better than advertised & has a pure shooting
• Quinn Ellis might be the most composed & purist point guard in the country
• Yessoufou is an NBA player who happens to be playing CBB
• Ian Jackson looks so much more loose & natural playing off the ball again
• Casper Pohto might just be this years breakout player that nobody saw coming. Just like the leap Zuby & Ruben took from their sophomore to junior seasons under Pitino. Pohto looked like a different dude out there tonight.
• It’s going to be another awesome season & we’re so lucky to have Rick Pitino leading our program!!!

Throwing it all the way back to 1987, when Rick Pitino was at Providence breaking down his meticulous preparation for a matchup against Villanova.
Five minutes of pure basketball knowledge—and absolutely worth the watch.
This is Rick Pitino excellence on full display.

Exclusive: Leaked photo of Danny Hurley at last week’s big east meetings around eligibility for the coming season. I’ve been told by 2 anonymous coaches that Hurley got so mad and the tantrum got so bad it was at the point where he was throwing his UConn passifier across the room at Val Ackerman and SJU AD Ed Kull when Hurley wasn’t getting his way. Not surprising with the behavior we’ve seen on the sidelines over the years. #sjubb #uconn #bigeast

Tonight changes nothing.
That was an all time great Johnnies team. Back to back double Big East Champs.
Disrespected by the committee and the referees (24FTs for Duke vs 8 for SJU).
Zuby BHop and DMich legends forever.
The St. John’s Red Storm are here to stay! #SJUBB

St. John’s HC Rick Pitino on having to play the number one overall seed, Duke, in the Sweet Sixteen:
“I told my players it’s either kill or be killed. For practice yesterday, we dug graves. It’s up to the players now to decide who will be placed in those graves.”
