Entering my 11th day in the hospital. Why has taken so long? It’s because my digestive system hasn’t properly β€œwoken up” yet. Part of it is due to the stress of my previous infection and the surgery. 1/3

Part of it is because taking opioid pain meds (which I definitely need) causes your GI tract to slow way down. Basically if I want go home I can only take Tylenol for pain. 2/3

Just found out there are medicines that allow you to take strong pain medicine without slowing my gut. Unfortunately my hospital doesn’t carry it because it’s too expensive and there’s no generic alternative 🀦🏻
