Interesting to see that the FR Cinematheque website down for the maintenance (I assume due to that PHP thing) ?
Sam and Corey now proud owners of the Cahiers book, at the location where cover photo was taken, and Alan —
Just googled Bill and was bummed that he doesn’t have a Wikipedia page.
Also bummed, that’s a pretty nice sweater I’m wearing, I guess I must have lost it.
Hopefully it's okay, and thanks again to Aret for organizing, but here's a three-hour conversation with Bill Krohn from 2022, that I did as part of my research on the history of Cahiers du Cinéma (haven't really re-listened to it since) : youtu.be/o3FTfGHEE64?si=aQ90…
Just looking at the the TIFF programming (as I want to go to city this weekend) : This is some pretty cool programming.
Really want to see this !
Please, an Ontario distributor, bring it to Hamilton ?
Pleased to hear A MAN OF HIS TIME (NOTRE SALUT) is doing well in France — I haven't stopped thinking about it since Cannes, from its use of Alphaville's "Sounds Like a Melody" onward. Makes Canadian fest premiere @cinemania_mtl next month, with theatrical release here in Q2 2027.
Just my two cents, would rather get a chance to meet and grab beers with Alex than watch again any movies cited in this article —

Steven Soderbergh will help finish “The Batman Part II” while director Matt Reeves is on hiatus dealing with a personal matter.
Soderbergh said in a statement: “I thought Matt Reeves’ work on ‘The Batman’ was stunning; it was intentional, specific and rigorously coherent. The goal here is to work with Matt and his team to generate footage that will integrate seamlessly with what’s already been shot so Matt can properly finish his film.”
A studio rep said in a statement: “As Matt Reeves continues to attend to an ongoing family matter, Steven Soderbergh, as an admirer of Matt’s work, approached Matt and will step in, with the full support of DC Studios, to help the writer-director complete the final weeks of principal photography on 'The Batman Part 2.' Matt and Steven will work closely together with the actors and crew to fulfill Matt’s vision of the film.”
