🌰The prostate is often largest in craniocaudal diameter 👉 so are many high grade tumors.
🛑It's easier to grow within the organ than beyond it.

1/ Thrilled to announce that our latest paper is now published in @EurRadiology. We showed that adding #radiomics to clinical variables can improve recurrence risk assessment for non-metastatic #RCC.

2/ Our decision curve analysis showed a combined model (4 radiomic + 4 clinical variables) improved adjuvant treatment decisions over a clinical base model. However, radiomics' added clinical value was relatively small (potential for deep learning?).
3/ Huge thanks to Masoom Haider @radfiler for leading this work and to all amazing co-authors for their contributions: @_kmcalpine @urooncmd @lawson6keith @ger_healy @emmanuel7s @TheoKwast. We hope our findings will help advance personalized treatment for RCC patients.

Common practice & recommended in several papers is to biopsy man with -ve MRI if PSA density > 0.15. But where did this cut-point come from (brief answer: a pretty random paper in the pre-MRI era) and is it rational (brief answer: no)? doi.org/10.1016/j.euf.2022.1…

I don’t understand this. Would we say “colon polyp not cancer don’t treat”? Or what about prophylactic mastectomy for BRCA? Treat if reduction in risk > harm. Nothing to do with what we call the lesion.
