So stoked for this conversation! Join me, @evansaysblah @DebGod and Vanessa Gomez Brake to talk about how secular activists navigate interfaith spaces—and how activists of faith can be more inclusive of our community. #InclusionMatters #interfaith 🔗 bit.ly/URI-UA

This is appalling. @NYCMayor, you lead one of the most diverse cities in the nation, including literally millions of atheists and nonreligious people. Church-state separation protects us all, atheist and believer alike. You should clarify and apologize. nydailynews.com/news/politic…

Lovely day for a lovely hike!
On Thanksgiving, we go hiking (trails picked by @DebGod)
Twitter-related TIL (because why not): I've recently been surprised by the # of complaints about "the algorithm" impacting what the complainer sees here. I honestly had no idea it was a big issue; used 3rd party apps (tweetdeck & echofon) for a long time.

Hmmm, not sure this fits the scope of my musicals-related Pandora station. …but I can’t thumb it down. Not when I remember all these lyrics!
I’m cleaning the bedroom windowsill. Spider impedes my task. What do? a) Vacuum spider up. b) Try waiting it out. Spider may relocate elsewhere…in the bedroom. c) Attempt manual spider relocation.

Spider didn't move fast enough, so spider has been relocated to find love somewhere else. Windowsill cleaning has resumed. Thanks to spider-loving pals for input!

Hey Twitter! I haven't spent much time on here in a while. (When my account was taken over by a crypto-bro for some months, it broke the habit.) Anything going on? Have I missed anything exciting?

There were quite a few of us in the 20-teens raising a ruckus about how the accommodations made for pervasive misogyny & racism in niche spaces like atheism & gaming would spread well beyond them but warnings were met with hostility by free speech absolutists

Some white supremacist bullshit right here, wow. These white politicians have a loooong history of redefining race to keep nonwhites from touching their power.
Republican officials in Louisiana are asking the U.S. Supreme Court to set a narrower definition of "Black" for redistricting that excludes some Black people and could minimize their voting power. n.pr/3s4D5Hu

Conferences are back, so I get to read books on planes again. But I find myself constantly thinking “CHRIST, just get to the fucking POINT already!” They’re authored by journalists, and I’m thinking the style is different than the academic books I read previously…?
