Java web apps you can install again: the ParparVM JavaScript build now generates the PWA manifest, icons and service worker. Cached app files launch offline. codenameone.com/blog/install…

Your Java expertise doesn't stop at the server. Codename One brings Spring Data-style repositories to native clients and backends. Wayline's findFirstByDriverAndStateIn(...) finds an active ride; the build generates the implementation. #Java #Native codenameone.com/blog/reposit…

A Java IDE in your browser that is "not a cloud IDE": editing, compiling and the app preview all run in the page, and your files stay in browser storage. Very early and experimental. Download the ZIP to continue on your desktop. codenameone.com/blog/not-a-c…

Your CI container doesn't need a pretend monitor to build a Java app's theme. Codename One's CSS compiler now runs headlessly: mvn -Djava.awt.headless=true cn1:css. Delete the framebuffer setup. #Java #CSS codenameone.com/blog/headles…

Break the demo. Replace 3 with "three" in our Java record example and the Playground catches the type error before it runs. Fix it, click the button, and watch your compiled listener update the UI. #Java codenameone.com/blog/playgro…

A familiar iOS feel shouldn't mean giving up control of your UI. UIKit above, Codename One below: same gestures, iOS simulator. Can you spot the differences? #Java #iOS codenameone.com/blog/ios27-g…

No, Vaadin isn't the same. I think WORA is doubly relevant with AI. I can use AI to generate 1 app for iOS, Android, Win32, Linux (including musl), Mac and Web. The amount of AI context I can save makes me far more productive there and on CI.

Dear @simas_ch I hope you haven't you given up on WORA. We haven't and we deliver on what Java has always promised: true native experience in all tiers and all screens.

The Codename One Playground compiles Java in your browser. Paste the record-and-lambda example, click its button, then break a constructor argument to inspect the compiler error. codenameone.com/blog/playgro…

Join our team at @Dynatrace in TLV. We're looking for people with a passion for JVM internals and complexity at scale. Ideally for leadership roles. There are plenty of other job openings so ping me if one of them is the right fit for you. careers.dynatrace.com/jobs/1…

Customizing console output with CSS styles? Yes, you can. Make your debug messages pop with colors and styles. Who says debugging can’t be fabulous? buff.ly/3YZnI2S

There's great synergy between Wireshark and tcpdump that is very useful for debugging networking issues in restricted environments buff.ly/3TKNeGu
