Libya’s top Islamic religious body issued a fatwa (a religious ruling) telling Muslims not to buy, sell, or wear Nike clothes. They say the name “Nike” comes from a Greek goddess of victory and the swoosh looks like her wing, which they see as promoting the worship of more than one god. They also said Nike supports Israel.
