I think Terry works because they 1) didn't make Batman less capable to make room for a new guy, he grew old 2) Bruce is his mentor/handler 3) Terry isn't just instantly great, he's flawed & has to improve 4) It's far enough in the future for him to have his own rogues gallery

Cap thing got me wondering. Has there ever been a superhero passing the mantle that was universally well received? Peter -> Ben & Miles as Spider-Man has been bumpy. Steve -> Sam as Cap too. I think Terry as Batman is the only one everyone liked. Idk why though.

Denis Villeneuve deserves that "The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King" treatment for Dune. He shouldn't just get nominated for Best Director for Dune: Part Three; he needs to win. Look at Peter Jackson. The Academy swept The Return of the King as a collective reward for the entire trilogy's monumental achievement. When Dune: Part Three drops, the Academy needs to break its sci-fi bias and correct a major historical oversight. Give the man his Oscar.
