Finally published it. easing_gradient for #Flutter is now available on pub.dev! 🚀
Elevate your gradients Just by appending `Easing` to the constructor.
e.g. LinearGradient -> EasingLinearGradient.

Today is a big day for DN developers! 🚀
Keep an eye on @DartNativeX. We have a few exciting posts coming throughout the day about DartNative 1.4.0, faster JSON decoding, and faster hot reload!

Flutter's dev loop, rebuilt 🦊
Your app runs inside Lumide on Raccoon, a tiny Flutter runtime. No Xcode. No Gradle. No native build.
⚡ 7× faster than Chrome per run
⚡ 3× faster than a macOS build
⚡ First run in 15 s, not 5 min
Measured on Wonderous app 👇

Latest build_runner 2.17 with a huge pile of bug fixes and something that I hope is very interesting for builder maintainers--a new way to output part files--experimental for now, please send feedback :)
pub.dev/packages/build_runne…
`package:build` got a major version bump to 5 so it won't be immediately available everywhere; almost all packages should be able to just update pubspec.yaml and release, so hopefully it won't take too long :) ... deps override `package:build` to 5 should work to try it.

Flutter is a 3D engine now. 99 seconds from my Flutter & Friends talk.
Everything in the cut is rendered by Flutter on the stable channel, on Impeller and Flutter GPU. No platform views, no native textures piped in from another engine, no custom fork. The engine is Flutter Scene, a complete 3D game engine for Flutter.
Complete means graphics, physics, audio, networking, an editor, and tools for AI coding agents, in one open source project. It runs on macOS, Linux, Windows, iOS, Android, web, and custom embedders. It scales down to a single model in a widget and up to full games, and dozens of contributors have landed work in it this year.
A scene is a widget. Put it in a Column, stack UI over it, or draw it transparent over the UI so physics objects cast shadows on your buttons. And hot reload works on the scene itself. Change a light or a material in Dart and it updates in place.
The full talk covers materials, lighting, the editor, and agent skills. Link in the reply. :)

The guy who pretended that we have infinite CPU cycles is now also pretending that he has infinite tokens.

I’ve been seeing this trend, so I tried it with Mix and @FlutterDev.

Dice rolling across a Flutter widget tree. The cards, the button, and the score are plain widgets, and the dice cast shadows on them. :)
The dice are physics bodies drawn by Flutter Scene, a complete 3D game engine for Flutter, in a transparent layer on top. An invisible shadow catcher material stands in for the screen surface, so the only thing the 3D layer draws is the dice and the shadows they leave on the UI.
Land a die hard enough on a card and it cracks. The shards are the card's own pixels, thrown as physics bodies, and they cast shadows like everything else.
No image assets anywhere. The stripes, the cards, the pip faces, and the wood and marble textures are painted or baked at startup. Physics is Rapier through flutter_scene_rapier, and this was recorded in debug mode.
The shadow catcher material shipped today in flutter_scene 0.23. This version of the dice example, with the count-up, the glass, and the breaking cards, lands in the example app with the next release.
把异形窗口也搞定了,真是难得这次能把三个平台效果对齐了。不过现在好像不多见像 XP 时代 WMP 那样的异形窗口的应用了。

efficiency, productivity, speed
we keep worshipping these words like they are what we live for
ship faster
merge more
manage more agents
compress every loop
remove every pause
turn every hour into output
but what is the point of endless production if there is no time left to think deeply?
not react
not optimize
not summarize
not clear the queue
think
to sit with a question long enough that your real intention starts to appear
to find the purpose underneath the motion
to ask whether the thing being accelerated should exist at all
ai could be a new canvas
a way to make strange things
personal things
impossible things
tools, worlds, poems, games, interfaces, films, languages, rituals
things that let more people touch the shape of their own imagination
but instead, so much of it is becoming slop factories
more content
more funnels
more tickets
more fake work pretending to be value
you can merge 2000 prs
you can manage 500 agents
you can wake up to dashboards proving that the machine kept moving while you slept
but what is the point if you only sleep 5 hours a day?
what is the point if you stop talking to other humans?
stop learning about the past?
stop playing?
stop wandering?
stop being surprised?
what is the point if your whole life becomes optimizing the system that is consuming you?
speed is not meaning
scale is not wisdom
automation is not freedom if it only makes everyone run faster
and where are we running?
toward what?
a world where every person becomes a manager of machines, and every machine produces more things no one had the time to truly want?
the danger is not that ai makes us lazy
the danger is that ai makes us endlessly busy
that it gives us infinite production before we have found intention
infinite execution before we have developed taste
infinite motion before we have learned how to be still
maybe the real frontier is not more speed
maybe it is discernment
knowing what not to make
knowing when to stop
knowing when the most productive thing is to sleep, read history, call a friend, play with a cat, walk without tracking it, or stare at the ceiling until the false urgency dissolves
tools should give us more life
not turn life into a tool
if ai is going to matter, it should not just help us produce more
it should help us become more human
more imaginative
more free
otherwise, it’s the same old factory
just without humans

I think we would have built Flutter in Swift if Swift had been more open source at the time. Rust I doubt adds much over Swift. That said, Dart and Flutter grew together, they're designed for each other at this point. youtube.com/watch?v=xqGAC5QC…
