people are so fkn disingenuous “ao3 is an archive not a fic site why are you expecting people to comment” you bitch and moan about how you cant survive 12 hours without your bedtime stories but treat writers like shit. dont be surprised when some of them dont come back after this

What’s sending me abt this discourse is every single person I’ve seen arguing has been like “IM NOT OBLIGATED TO BE NICE TO WRITERS AND THEYRE CAPITALISTS FOR EXPECTING KINDNESS” like sure, you’re not obligated to do anything. You do sound like a dick tho. Anyway
clev (@colinsteeth) profile pictureclev@colinsteethOct 30
It’s so odd and disingenuous to me that people act like it’s against the spirit of fandom for writers to want engagement on their fics. The point of fandom is to connect with one another over shared interests. That’s literally what kudos and comments are, I write and you engage ?

For those of you fighting writers who keep asking for their work to not be thrown around like candy…this is directly from AO3’s T&Cs. tldr: if you don’t have direct permission, then you Don’t Have Permission.
