Great panel today @RSIS_NTU on #HADR, #AI & austerity - moderated by @beancook, with @mlaverdeb (@ADPCnet), Vincent Kessler (@synspective) & @dfeyeandal. Three takeaways: 1️⃣ Only 21% of the UN's $45bn humanitarian ask was met in 2025. It's not doing more with less - it's doing less with less. 2️⃣ SAR satellites can image disaster zones within hours. Impressive - but only if responders know how to use the data. 3️⃣ AI is a conditional force multiplier. In complex settings, it adds complexity, not less. The gap between responsible AI principles and crisis-time practice remains vast. Themes I'm working through with students at @AGDAUAE. #HumanitarianCrisis #DisasterRelief

Been raining nonstop the past days, but glad it’s easing up 🌥️ We saw another peak in NOAH usage for KYH, and thankfully, no logged downtime 🙏🏼 I still remember 5–6 years ago, the site would struggle whenever traffic surged. Grateful for the solid support from Mapbox and UPDC!
