I was very excited to get right back to work this morning. I’m grateful to have received the support of residents from across the city for my detailed plan to move Ottawa forward. Now that the election is over, my focus is on implementing the plan to keep Ottawa affordable and improve our quality of life.

Congratulations, @_MarkSutcliffe, on your re-election as Mayor of Ottawa.
We’ve accomplished a lot together and now we have the opportunity to build on it.
That means getting more affordable homes built across the city. Making our communities safer for families. Giving the people of Nepean, and all of Ottawa, the chance to build the future they want for themselves.
I look forward to the work ahead and the progress we’ll make together.

There’s such positive energy in Kanata North this morning. Our team is greeting everyone on their way around this morning. What a great way to kick off a big day for our city!
Every question at last night's CBC debate came back to one thing: who has a plan to build a stronger Ottawa. @_MarkSutcliffe came prepared and showed he's the only candidate that has a clear vision for the city’s future.

The men and women who built Ottawa are backing the plan to build its future. Great to have LiUNA Local 527 on the Team Ottawa 🏗️
Thank you to LiUNA Local 527 for endorsing my campaign for Mayor. The people who build our city deserve fair wages and the opportunity to build their careers here. That's why I'm committed to ensuring skilled trades workers are paid fairly and creating more opportunities for local workers and apprentices. My $10-billion infrastructure plan will mean more work for construction tradespeople in the years ahead as we invest in roads, transit and the infrastructure Ottawa needs. Let's keep building Ottawa together!

Mark Sutcliffe might now be the most YIMBY mayor in Canada
After three years of giving him grief, he and his team did a complete 180 on housing. They've made tremendous progress in the past year.
I am excited to see what a second term brings if he is re-elected next week.
Ottawa’s housing starts are up 14% so far in 2026 compared to the same period last year, building on a 38% increase in 2025. We’re making real progress at a time when housing starts are down 5% across Ontario and 4% nationally.
The city has approved 75,000 homes in the past 4 years, and I’ll advance another 75,000 before 2030. We’re approving homes faster and creating more opportunities to build in Ottawa.
Let’s keep moving forward on housing, together. marksutcliffe.ca/priorities/…

Don’t underestimate how important international validation has been to how Canadians feel about their PM and government

My poll for Sutcliffe’s campaign found Neil and Jeff neck and neck for second among likely voters
Sutcliffe campaign's internal poll shows sizable lead for incumbent mayor

Jeff’s been running to be mayor for over a year. Yet he still won’t be honest about what his tax increase will be.
If you want to be mayor, have a backbone and tell people your number.
After 12 years on City Council and more than 15 months into his campaign for mayor, Jeff Leiper knows how Ottawa’s budget works. So why is he still keeping his planned property tax increases a secret from Ottawa residents?
Ottawa families deserve to know how much their household budgets will be impacted by tax increases. I’ve been clear about my plan: I will keep property tax increases between 2% and 2.5% for the next two years and find another $250 million in savings and efficiencies. Ottawa residents deserve honesty and transparency.
What’s your number, Jeff?

Ottawa is a great place to invest. And at this critical time for our country and our city, we need to show the world what we have to offer. In my Economic Plan, I'll host Ottawa's first-ever Investment Summit in 2027. As some markets close to us, others are opening up. This is the time to take advantage of our international relationships as Canada's capital and attract more investment to our region.

They agree a bit.
Ottawa seems to be the standout.
